    Good evening all.

Dayshift today so a bit shattered. Our village is almost cut off due to the storms and flooding so we are very very short staffed (as some people can't get through).
So... I have ended up agreeing to do another dayshift tomorrow. Still not sure if this gets to be included in the challenge but that will make it a grand total of 17 hours overtime this week.
    Hope it counts.
    :)

Catwoman... I am very much a nightowl so love nightshifts. Unfortunately, it means that all I tend to do when working is work, eat and sleep.
Day shift is a nightmare. Prime example is today: rice krispies in the morning. a sandwich for lunch and then came home and couldn't be bothered cooking, then decided that I couldn't even be bothered eating.
Shiftwork is a nightmare for that sort of thing. I would love to have a regular 9 - 5 job but at the same time, I really do enjoy my work (sometimes).
    :o

If you have a facebook account, google FUBAR news (I promise it isn't dodgy) and you can see how bad some of the floods are up here. It is quite scary to be honest, and really quite sad.
    :(

Spend-free day today due to work. Will end up spending tomorrow as one of our staff is leaving and I need to put some money in for a leaving present.
Gutted she is leaving as I felt we worked really well as a team. It is always disappointing to lose someone you have respect for.
    :undecided

Hope everyone is getting on okay.
    Hugs to you all.

    Hi everyone!

    NSD 4 today.

    Not much else to report.

    Night all!
  • Traveller - I'm sorry to read about the problems with your son. I remember when I was in my early 20's I thought I knew the meaning of the universe. How naïve I was - hope things get sorted out. One day, I'm sure, he will thank you for everything you've done for him.
I got the day off work today, to go to a hospital discharge meeting for my dh. It took 3 hours! I have had a very productive, and very spendy day though. Got all of my spends done in one big go so that I can rack up more spend free days for the rest of the month. :D
I've gotten petrol, meat from butcher, aldee shop, Mr M for 'luxury' stuff we can't get at Aldee plus a little dip into eb@y for some new earrings (I have been wearing the same earrings for about 20 years now - since they were pierced and I caught one at work the other day and it came out of my ear and disappeared) I feel like I've spent a fortune but that should really be it for a week or so. I didn't have time to get cat litter or my prescription but I have put the money to one side so I can claim a nsd when it does happen.
  • Evening all

themarsbargirl and applemuncher Thank you for the advice it is much appreciated. I have spoken to the school that I working as a supply TA in and asked if they will take me on a temporary contract on the condition that I pass my qualifications. I am just waiting to hear back if they do not want to do this I will be looking elsewhere, so thank you for the confidence boost.

theonlygirl I am really pleased that you are enjoying your new job.

Stewby Sending hugs to you and everyone in your village it must be a very difficult time for you all.

Calling I LOVE netflix I am watching "once upon a time" it has five series and it is really good.

Traveller Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your son

Today was a spend day but tomorrow should be a NSD.

Well I have some positive news that I will be DEBT free by the end of January. Me and OH have reviewed our budgets and some savings OH has through work that are maturing so we have decided to use them and pay off our debt so that we can save for our house !!!. I feel a little bit like I am cheating by using these to become debt free but needs must .

So I am feeling nervous, excited and scared as this means I will be a proper grown up lol. I am looking forward to start saving and continue with the NSK way of life so we can buy our first home in time for Xmas. :j:j

Just keeping my fingers crossed that the school I am at want me.

I am off to bed as been at college tonight and it's been a tough first week back. I will check in tomorrow

    Night all

NSD number 3 for me today, my plans are to laze in bed playing video games, only time I've had to myself my whole week off work!
Spent yesterday, but just food. I think I'm going to not include food shopping in my spends. As I'm currently living in a shared house we have only a tiny space in the fridge and cupboard for food so we have to shop every other day rather than stocking up.
If I include these spends I'll never get a NSD! So, unless I buy 'treats' or go wildly off my list, I don't think I will include them.

catwoman - thanks, I will look up the recipe.

fmess - I got the £12 this year and last year. I feel your pain with FU, how do energy company staff get away with being so bliddy useless?

traveller - your son wants the best of both worlds - paying next to nothing but having the run of the place. Real life doesn't work like that, if he wants control over changes in his home he has to get his own place and pay full whack.

    Hi Fmess,

I'm a FU customer and I saw this too.

FU are not my favourite company right now. I was two days late with my gas meter reading and they estimated it at 16x what it should have been. I was very glad I was not on a DD or they would have owed me for 6 months. They clearly didn't base their estimate on the previous month.

In similar news, I told my boss that I estimated that I would provide 16x my usual hours this month and asked him if I could please have the rest of my wages. I assured him that he would get a full refund if I didn't actually do that many hours after all. He thought about it but I was surprised to find he said "No".

    Well said:rotfl:

stewby - I hope to God this rain stops soon, it is really bad here too (Yorkshire). We are OK but we went for a walk on the canal path in our town at the weekend and the river running next to it had burst its banks previously and wreaked havoc, walls down, bridges loosened, fences down, debris everywhere and all the trees were full of plastic bags.

luckystarr - how exciting for you.

    Happy Friday Turtles.

I managed to spend yesterday 10 pounds on food/bunny stuff so will not count todays SFD.

Today got under 4600 paid 56.00 off on cc1, used money saving for dentist, but that way hopefully escape interest if I clear the rest of the card by mid Feb. Paid 186.00 off since beginning of this year so very happy.:j:j:j
