Did notice that I had received a £12 repayment from the government on my bill though, anyone else seen this on their bill?(
Hi Fmess,
I'm a FU customer and I saw this too.
FU are not my favourite company right now. I was two days late with my gas meter reading and they estimated it at 16x what it should have been. I was very glad I was not on a DD or they would have owed me for 6 months. They clearly didn't base their estimate on the previous month.
In similar news, I told my boss that I estimated that I would provide 16x my usual hours this month and asked him if I could please have the rest of my wages. I assured him that he would get a full refund if I didn't actually do that many hours after all. He thought about it but I was surprised to find he said "No".0 -
NSD 7/7 today.
I am happy to report that I actually managed to get something for free. I was sure I wouldn't manage this because I just don't seem to notice free stuff most of the time.
If there are any techies out there who like online course providers and have heard of Pl*r*ls*ght, they are offering 6 months free if you sign up to MS VS Dev Essentials. Quite a bargain for simply providing an email address.0 -
Yes I just lost my post. Again. Very annoying.
Short version. NSD 4 for me. I have been using up everything from the freezer this week. Out of the 4 nights I've cooked only 1 was from scratch. I've used up fish and prawns for a fish pie, pork for a pork and bean stew, sausage chilli for tonight's jackets and chilli with salad. I've taken out a pork stew and a box of lentil soup and that leaves only 2 boxes of jambalaya in the freezer! It's brilliant to see it so empty ready for a big YS haul.
Have no Christmas food left except Stilton and that can be eaten up in sandwiches etc.
Jeanangeo -do you know how to make your own KFC? It's very easy and it might stop you feeling so deprived?
Justforme- it was a floorbrush
Catwoman -I know what it's like to be so pooped you can't be bothered. I'm glad you are going to try again with the hummus. I find using a stick blender produces better results than a blender as it preserves the texture.
Mothernerd -of course. How is your mum's partner now? And your mum for that matter." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Well I wouldn't call it a recipe
but most supermarkets sell Fried chicken mix. I buy that and shove the chicken in egg then in the mix. Fry it and hey presto, lol. and that bill 16x the true cost  good grief!!!

Cat woman- spent years trying to perfect hummus. Never tasted the same as shop bought. I eventually found a version with horseradish and actually prefer it to the shop version.
Another spend day for me- more decorating stuff and a small grocery shop for couple of things I need for next set of batch cooking (am running out of room in freezer!). I also signed up to eBay and bought a few bits. Having read the guides on selling I realised I need to get a bit of feedback from buying things before I attempt to sell. Stocked up on some crafting bits where my stash is low from all my Christmas makes.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Short Bird - how are you getting on with January Curing the house? I haven't done today's but am finding the being told what to do every day useful so I don't have to think about it so much!
Because of the unique way this week is working, I've switched bits of the Apartment Therapy January Cure. As I booked to get the cooker cleaned tomorrow, I've been working on the kitchen today instead of waiting till the weekend.
I did come to the conclusion today that some of my spending can be triggered by it being too darned cold. The coffee was not essential but went down well in my wind chilled state. Am looking for a slightly longer coat...

Achieved my 2nd NDS today, bit disappointed I missed out on one by £1.71 that I spent on a snack yesterday. I was away with work and was absolutely starving
I usually keep a couple of healthy snacks in the car but hadn't replaced them after the Christmas break.
DH sold a duplicate toy DS got for Christmas for £10 tonight but that money will be going in DS's savings account. DH is now fired up to sell a few more things and I have a couple of ideas of items to sell to clear some clutter.
Should manage a NSD tomorrow and Sunday as I plan do my food shop and any other spending on Saturday when I have a hair cut booked.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Nsd 5 today.

Nsd 6 for me today. I did buy some reduced 25p rolls but I'm not counting that as it was reduced n I took it out of the change left in my pocket from last weekend.
All meals from stores.
Very tired tonight...Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820
