  • Oh great so I am just never going to work again!
  • Would it be cheaper to pay a nanny/au pair than nursery fees? I'm not sure what the going rate is these days.

I worked evenings in a call centre for a large delivery and freight company. I jumped in the car to go to work as DH jumped out of it returning home from his job, so the kids were always with one of us, and we didn't need to pay for childcare.

A childminder is usually cheaper have you looked into that? Why did your partner have children with you if he isn't interested in helping with their childcare?

having read your previous thread I have deleted advice about working, this is not about working is it. It's about your whole life and you really need some support and counselling rather than a job.

    Good luck.

Bear in mind that the nursery years don't last forever. Sure, most of your income might be going on childcare now, but in 2-3 years one or both will be at school and your childcare costs will drop massively. It can be worth while to tread water financially for a few years, while still maintaining your career.

Have you considered other options than both of you working full time? Perhaps you could both move down to 4 days a week, with one of you taking Monday off and the other Friday. Then you'd only need 3 days childcare each week, you'd both get to spend more time with the kids, and neither would feel like you were giving up on a career.

Totally agree with this very good advice. Reach out to someone you can trust and find a way to be happier.

    Very best wishes

But you said your work is well paid and, anyway, it wouldn't just be you paying for it.

    How old are your children?

OP- you are dismissing every suggestion put to you.

You have a choice to work or not.
How do you think single parents manage?!! I have to work full time because I have raised 3 kids on my own and no support either. It is a matter of stop moaning and get on with it!1 Grow a backbone.

What would you do if you didnt have a husband who financially supported you so that you could stay at home? You would have to work then becaause you wouldnt have the choice!!
