It's not currently listed for me.

Make sure your settings aren't unintentionally filtering them out.

Same filters as always: Monthly DD and dual fuel, others set to All.

Just a heads up energy prices still falling...
And will probably fall further as the coronavirus situation in China degelops. They've already turned away a shipment of US LNG declaring force majeure.

There's a Change button in Avro green that may not have been there before.

  • I'm currently looking at switching from Bulb as they don't seem to want to drop their extortionate gas unit prices and Avro are looking like a good choice for me, I'm not a "diehard" switcher but I don't like being ripped off by Bulb either, I've just got a few (might sound silly) questions. Is it a good time to switch now?, what I mean is, are the best deals in Winter, Summer or basically all year round? I pay my DD with Bulb around 28th of the month I would like to keep a similar payment date. Can I do that,I read it takes 21 days to switch to Avro so if my maths is correct I should switch NOW (today) to get that payment date but I'm also waiting on a reply from Bulb regarding their "soon to be happening price decrease" If they don't give me a definitive answer by next week, I've told them I'm  off, I'm also In credit with Bulb just over £300, how long does that realistically take to return? or should I run it down before switch?

I KNOW I'm overthinking all this and Its just a straightforward switch but I hope someone can clarify as I'm also sure the people that frequent here are usually Experts with Switching, let's see eh

Are Avro really the cheapest?  I'm paying 2.370p per kWh + 17.29p per day with Gulf.
    Gas prices are falling.

Avro take the first DD payment 12 days after you sign up. This is in advance of the switch date so if you don't like paying in advance regardless of what savings you may make then Avro is not for you.
I don't know about Bulb but energy companies have six weeks after you switch to produce the final bill then another 10 working days to give you a refund  so it may be better to ask for some of you credit back before you switch.

Well Yes! I'm being quoted 2.431 per kWh + 14.70p per day so very little in it  AND Avro are cheaper than Gulf on Electricity so overall its the cheapest. Well PE are THE cheapest for me but I'm not 100% sure I want to pay 2 months up front.

Any thoughts on my actual question/s?

You don't have to have dual fuel from Gulf.  Electricity may be cheaper with someone else such as Neon Reef, but YMMV.  You can't guarantee a DD date.

Thanks for clarifying the 12 days, I've looked at that many tariffs last couple of days, they're all starting to merge in my head lol. I never suggested I had any issue with paying in advance so I still believe Avro is most definitely for me based on cost/s. Thanks for the heads up regarding final bill and my credit balance.

Well yes I am aware of that but prefer dual fuel and have just one payment going out, I accept there would be a saving but negligible IMO.
How can I NOT guarantee a DD date if I can get an answer to my actual question and find out the optimum date to switch then surely I can get the DD date near enough?

You can always ask for your preferred DD, and they may well oblige, but I doubt whether any company will offer an absolute guarantee, especially for the first one.
