You can always ask for your preferred DD, and they may well oblige, but I doubt whether any company will offer an absolute guarantee, especially for the first one.

I'm not looking for an "absolute guarantee" and actually the DD date is not at the forefront of my switching decision, all I'm attempting to ascertain is IF I switch on a certain date then X amount of days later a DD will be generated, excluding the advance payment DD of course which I am now aware is taken 12 days after I sign up.
Do you think Avros tariff is a good one?

I liked Avro and I'd happily go back to them.  I switched several times with them because they kept bringing out a new tariff every few weeks.  A quick phone call and the new tariff applied instantly, no messing around for 17 days.  However, they were eventually beaten by Yorkshire Energy, also good, but now I've found Gulf Gas + Neon Reef Electricity significantly cheaper.  That's the way it goes, you have to be a rate tart to get the lowest prices consistently.
  • Yep your right, I know there's cheaper than Avro PE for example and Neon reef is definitely a good price but I cant be rate tart, Avro is coming up cheaper than Gulf AND Yorkshire Energy for my area + no exit fees with Avro so its ticking all the boxes currently.
  • I saved £85/yr  by switching from Simple&Supersave to Simple&Superflow on 23.1.20;...just swopped (9.2.20) from Simple&Superflow to the latest tariff (Simple&Superfixed) and another £22/yr saving.

Avro’s Simple&Superfixed tariff doesn’t appear on CEC,...it’s not on Citizens Advice Comparison site either so I’d imagine none of the comparison sites have been updated yet.

Prices are falling;...every little helps I guess.

Is CEC Cheap energy club? if so I'm signed up to that and Avros Simple & Superfixed IS showing for me and also showing a potential saving of £238!!!!!! which blows Bulb out of the water. Based on your assumption that prices are falling and I have to agree with that sentiment I might just wait it out for maybe another few weeks then switch. Would like to know what the "serious rate chasers" think?

Switch now.  There is no penalty to switch out of Avro - and no penalty to  switch to a better Avro deal either.  It may go up or it may go down - i've been in the situation of grabbing a fixed rate, and having it disappear the next day.  You have nothing to lose by switching to Avro now.

Yes I think your right and the "no exit fees" no penalty to switch to a better deal is a deal clincher. Many thanks.

Yes, the CEC is MSE’s CheapEnergyClub.  :)

Although the new Simple&Superfixed tariff appears in the drop-down ‘current tariff’ menu and could be selected if required the CEC still does not produce any price comparisons against Simple&Superflow,...not for my post-code anyway;...perhaps everything is still updating etc.

Still no mention of Simple&Superfixed whatsoever on Citizens advice,...again using my post-code.

Just a quick aside:...when you reply to a post (and quote it) you must type your text into the ‘white’ space below the ‘quoted’ post. Otherwise the two posts are ‘appended’ and it’s difficult to see where the original post ends and your reply begins.

‘Quoting’ on the new forum is a bit more complex than the old system, eh?

I've just switched to Avro on the Simple&Superfixed, pretty straightforward, easy account set up and login, switch taking place 1st March first DD coming out 21st This month and then 21st of the month thereafter so not perfect DD date but good enough for me.

RE: the aside, the new forum is taking a minor effort to get used to but hey ho, lets see if this reply works out :)
