Was just about to switch to latest Avro tariff but decided to check whole of market. Found a new Green leccy tariff ,Green Ampere, which will save me £135pa on its own  :D  -so I'm switching back to separate suppliers with Gulf for gas.
According to my spreadsheets ,I'll actually have zero credit with Avro when I put my meter reads in next week , so if my switches occur by month end ,I'll actually owe them ~ £40 - the right way round to be when leaving a Utility supplier!

I trust that you have taken into consideration the early exit fees applicable to both the Green and Gulf tariffs and seen the warning issued on CEC of a possible new customer ban being imposed on Green by Ofgem as below when making your decision.
Important: Ofgem has threatened Green with a new customer ban as it has yet to become a member of the national smart meter network.
Sometimes better the devil you know is the best and safest option to choose. ;)
  • Avro’s Simple&Supefixed tariff is now showing in Citizens Advice price comparison tables.

Still a no-show on the CEC comparison tables though,...for my post-code anyway.

Yes -had taken exit fees into account ,but the savings are just too good to miss.
As to ban on new customers ? Can't be in force yet, or they wouldn't have accepted me as a customer?

Obviously not but if Ofgem do impose a new customer ban it could easily be the start of the slippery slope leading to large fines being imposed on Green which in turn may be enough to possibly bankrupt the company.

If it happens and causes financial difficulties, then OFGEM will need to find quite a few Suppliers of Last Resort as I suspect a few Companies could cease to trade in a very short space of time. I decided that the ~ 3p/kwh saving by moving from Avro to Green was too good to miss and I'm still £100s up from three supplier failures in latter half of 2018  :)
  • I signed up around the start of January as my fix with EDF was coming to an end, the sign up was pretty simple, everything went smoothly and the first DD was taken.  I had to call them today to do a change of DD because I was also in the middle of moving my bank account, that was the worst part, it took over 25 minutes on hold to get through to someone, when I did, they were pleasant and got it sorted quickly.
  • Got an email on Wednesday 5th from support@avro reminding me that my current Simple & MSE Collective tariff comes to an end on 18 March. So I replied asking if as this was less than 50 days away would I incur the £60 exit penalty if I switched to their current Simple and Superflow tariff....

That was on the 5th. Today (11th) I get a reply. Starts off well:
"My apologises [sic] for the delay in getting back to you."
Despite my asking "If I switch to the current Simple and Superflow tariff now will I incur
the £60 exit penalty?" they've failed to answer or probably understand the question:
"You will not incur any exit fees if you were to renew your tariff or even if you were to switch away.
Your current tariff 'Simple and MSE Collective_ is due to end on the 18/03/20."
There's nothing about switching tariff now incurring the exit penalty as I asked.

Don''t forget it happened to Avro last year for the same reason.

You're within the switching window. The supplier cannot apply early exit fees
