  • Agreed that I might be speculating here, but I did not know other white good delivery providers to unwrap the contents of their vans to ensure speedy deployment. Would be a concern for things getting damaged if it was me.

It just doesn't feel like a new purchase to me. Having to pay for it has left a sour taste in our mouths that is all.

No online presence for this either so no spare parts or reviews :(

If they offered a standard model that you would likely get parts for in a few years i'd jump at the chance.

See my comments above - it's likely a contracted delivery company working for Hotpoint.

If it was damaged in transit they'd replace it.

The only way you'll know for sure is to contact Hotpoint directly. I very much doubt it'll be a reconditioned machine if I'm being honest.

If it's a new model then parts will crop up "in a few years" anyway...

    'She'

I didn't have a meltdown and I didn't get wound up by you calling me 'dearie' in fact I found it rather amusing. As for disappearing, I logged off and went to bed!

Don't panic, I shall be logging out of this account shortly and I SHALL NOT be returning to this forum ever!

For the record, I frequented this thread because I did have a Hotpoint TD and I did successfully get it swapped for a new one by writing four letters to Whirlpool. Took a bit of perseverance but I got what I wanted in the end.

I couldn't agree more. It's a shame the MSE Forum Team didn't support me as BlueEyedGirl when I was attacked on the forum by someone...

And as for those who called me a 'Saddo,' on the forum last night, you are right, but ask yourself what kind of person frequents forums using different names and why they might actually be a 'Saddo.'

Why did you come back again? This is the 2nd time you've stated you aren't coming back and god only knows how many accounts you've got now, dearie.

Our free replacement came in a hotpoint van and was still packed up when they dropped it off. They offered to unpack but we did it ourselves anyway.

  • Please can someone tell me who do you contact to sort out a £59 or £99 replacement from. Got a "faulty" indesit (when I registered with them no one mentioned about a replacement) this is first I have heard, any help welcome. Many thanks

When i first registered my tumble dryer i got a automated email back saying they have received my complaint this was at the end of Nov beginning of Dec 2015, about 6-8 weeks later i got another one saying they would be in touch with me shortly to sort a repair out.
I received a email on the 2nd Feb 2016 telling me to click on a link to find out when my repair date would be which i did and it came up March 2016 but after clicking on the link it also gave me the option of clicking 2 further links to buy a replacement dryer one for a 59.00 or one for 99.00 i opted for the 99.00 as we already had a condenser dryer.
i have just received my new dryer today so it took a month from order date to delivery, I have checked the model number and it is NOT on the list of faulty dryers MODEL NUMBER TDWSF83BEP

We were not given this option, this is the £99 variant we received:

Agreed, we just want a few years use out of it and then dump this naff brand - should have never bothered in the first place and stuck with Siemens and the like.

Ali, you were one of the lucky ones in that case!

So onto our replacement, I got back last night and confirmed that it is indeed a new appliance. With the "10 year parts guarantee" sticker on the front of it.

Annoyingly it did have a couple of dings and dents in the side of it, was hard to tell when it originally arrived.

More of an issue is the loose, rounded off screw in the back. Poor workmanship, picture below:

    Wow! Send it back!
  • There is little contact after sales support from what it seems but I will try to call the original number.

Its just amounting to a lot of hassle. If they refund me the £99, I will keep the dryer and put in an enlarged screw to repair it myself.
