Via Twitter @HotpointSupport I did it very early this morning and they have just responded via a personal message asking for my contact details and details of my dryer to enable further action.
Well I've not heard anything further from Hotpoint yet, anyone any updates?
  • I was looking forward to the delivery of my new replacement tumble dryer today. This morning expert logistics text me to confirm delivery between 3pm and 7pm. At 8pm I had a phone call saying it would not be delivered today as they have run out of driver hours. They were unable to rearrange the delivery and suggested I contact the retailer. I explained this was a replacement for the fire risk model and I had dealt with Hotpoint directly and they are all no reply email addresses. I asked for the delivery office number but he said they weren't allowed to give that out. How do I contact Hotpoint please? I should never have taken the day off work!

Phone numbers have been mentioned earlier in this thread - as have twitter and facebook.

    Or try this.
  • Thank you.
  • My "January" repair never took place so I'm now been told its Feb on the online link i have. Attempting again to get someone to get in touch with me via Twitter but I''m starting to lose the will to live with it now! I don't see how they are sticking to their first come first served basis. I reported this on 23rd November - the same day one of my work colleagues did. His estimated repair is May!

Finally got an e-mail last night, repair in March sometime or new machine £99, old machine is only 16 months old and I did register on the first notification day in November. So I'm going to wait for the repair.
  • Hello,
Pleased I found this discussion; we purchased an indesit dryer in September 14, not had much use but only 6 months after use we found burnt fragments and a smell of burning, which we assumed was our fault, however later now realise one of recalled dryers.
We use dryer very carefully as smell of burning occasionally still present. (I know we should probably not use at all).

Can anyone advise if we are entitled to a refund? They (the company) seem fairly unconcerned - engineer apparently will be available in March to fix fault or we can upgrade for £100 to new machine?

Please does anyone have any advice? Just feel that can manufacturers be trusted again. Feel is ridiculous having to spend a £100 when the machine is not all that old.

    Beggars belief all of this.

Sorry ( Iconfess I have not been through entire replies as yet)
    Many thanks
  • Hi, the link was in the email advising me of when the repair was scheduled, from there it took you to the page where it also offered you a choice of a replacement. Would put the link up but now its does not work because my order has been filled.

I'm fairly sure you'll have to give them 'reasonable opportunity' to repair or replace the item before you chase a refund. Exactly what constitutes 'reasonable opportunity' is unclear though!

Problem is getting through to them is almost impossible, I gave up on the phones and used twitter. They eventually offered me a replacement dryer free of charge but the delivery man damaged our floor in the process!

I'm sure that if you press them hard enough they will offer you the replacement free of charge if you're not happy to wait for a repair.
