Our Old Style description

I am aware of where the description is located and that Martin is looking for suggestions of what he should put in it, I just liked Judi's wording of Old Style with New Style flair.
After all bread makers, ice-cream makers, micro waves and even slow cookers weren't actually prolific in the "old days".0 -
Which will make a nice addition later to our beginners guide. And is, as you say, a point pertinent to, and one of the reasons why, we are discussing our possible change of description.
The current discussion in this thread is on the Old Style description itself.
So... which of the four choices do you think could be amended to include the phrase you suggest?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. but squeaky you brought up the fact that you were going to do a beginners guide first, and maybe edilass is just querying if we need one when we've already got Judi's lovely welcome thread,
or do you mean a beginners guide to teach people how to live 'oldstyle'I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. can't we just ask Martin if he could come up with a new description that would take in the changes on the board, after all he's done a good job on the other descriptionsI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I also said that this was for information and did not want it to become a sub thread within this thread on our Old Style description.
As for Judi's lovely welcome- it might well be agreed that this would be the opening paragraph of our upcoming beginners guide to the Old Style forum. Later. In another thread.
So... would you like to vote on one of the options listed in post #1 and perhaps also tell us why you think it's suitable and, if you wish, offer any wording change you think might help one along?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Ooooh, my head hurts now - choices, choices.
Yesterday, I was a '2 and 4' person, with 2 coming out slightly on top. Today, after reading again, I'm favouring 4. Then I come across option 24 .
I'll go for 24 then
(I think)

But we're talking of the thirty word description of Old Style on the Forum Listing Page.
Option 1 = 34 words
Option 2 = 33 words
Option 3 = 24 words (+? for last line)
Option 4 = 31 words
Option 5a = 27 words (Queenie's suggestion, but isn't an option!)
Option 5b = 15 words (as per troo's condensed version of Queenie's suggestion, but not an option)
Option 24 = 31 words
Judi's = 70+ (as per Edinburghlass suggestion but not an option)
Martin's words = ?? (as per Glad's suggestion, but not an option)would you like to vote on one of the options listed in post #

A couple of things I noticed firstly, Squeaky says in his OP, "We have come up with . . ." and lists 4 possibles - who is we? I do not like any of the posts per se. I think the contributers of the old style thread should be asked for their best introduction, if indeed it needed changing at all. I think we should all list the introduction we like then the two board guides between them can pick say the best 5 and those then passed on to Martin. Thats my opinion and I feel its the best forward.
