    Thank you :)

Playing Devils Advocate here, squeaky, there's a tone running along the whole of this thread which comes across as ... autocratic. Now I am sure that isn't intended, but it does. :(:(:(

That's because I very definitely didn't want to be faced with having to choose a short list of offerings from our readers. If I pick one over another I'm bound to upset somebody that I haven't picked. Especially if the offers are very similar - and they're going to be similar when limited to about thirty words and describing the same one thing.

So I set up (in discussion) the four choices that four Board Guides and MSE Martin came up with and then asked you all to choose between those.

And yes, I did my best to keep this on track because I still do not want to have to choose between each of you. I really don't.

Looks like I'm not going to get away with though does it? :)

  • When the dust settles everyone is going to be satisfied with the wording because in broad terms we all feel the same but express it differently :grouphug:

If I didn't think that it would PUT OFF our younger readers (and that does make me feel old - I'm only 26!) - I'd say that this board was about Home Economics. In its original and truest sense.

Though I'm going with number 4 from the original list.

    Thank you all.

It's clear that I made a mistake in trying to limit the discussion to a few set options and so I apologise to everybody.

I am therefore closing this thread and will start a new thread leaving all the options and choices open to everyone.

The new thread is The Old Style Forum Description
