    2 or 4

Love the mention of lifestyle in 2 because that is what this is all about - agree with Queenie tho re: cooking healthy meals from scratch sounds more appealing rather than mentioning E numbers, important though that is.

Taking control of your home in description 4 really needs to be as Mrs Thrift says, taking control of your life as we all take "oldstylin" into the rest of our lives e.g, shopping, hols, entertaining the kids, parties etc.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Don't know if this is the place to mention it or not, but while we're on the subject of a potential change ... is there anyway that the thread index can be replicated at the bottom of the screen as it is at the top? If I get to the bottom of a thread and it's at the bottom of a page and I want to nip back to, say, the main thread for moneysaving old style, I have to scroll back up, or hit my browser back button and then refresh.

This isn't a complaint, btw, but a (hopefully) constructive suggestion. :)

Edit by squeaky: This question would be much better asked in the This Site & Questions board. To do so Click Here

Edit 2: Duly duplicated - feel free to delete from here (if that's what you do). I'll probably never find that thread again ...

    I'm going for Option 5 :D:D:D:D

Back to basics: cooking from scratch, homemade cleaners, menu planning, shopping wisdom. Make it, grow it, save, don't waste it. Pinch that penny and squeeze that pound.

 Or maybe ... Option 6 if rhymes are preferred!!!
    Grocery shopping, cooking from scratch,
    Cook once, eat twice (freeze a batch);
Home made gifts and old style wisdom
Pass it on to the next generation.
Make your own cleaners and food (grow your own)
Pinch each penny and make it MOAN!

Where's the Poll? Having them listed as a poll might get you more results because not everyone is going to use reply. Unless we are allowed to give our own input/suggestions too? In which case a Poll wouldn't be appropriate.

I like number 4 but feel it should add: "... take control of your home and wallet!"

I also like number 2 - but would alter "cooking healthy food with no E numbers to cooking healthy food from scratch...
Old Style is a "lifestyle" ... it's a lifestyle of living within your means.

Personally, I don't like any emphasis on vinegar, because I think that detracts from the true meaning of old style living.

    I agree 100%

I like options 4 & 5. The rhymes are clever, but not so informative.
The idea of eating rubber chicken would have put me off before I knew what it meant, & pouring cola down the loo would not have inspired me to look at the site, either!

I really like 2, especially "Old style is about Lifestyle"

I think it sums Old Style up perfectly. :D

    There is no 5

I like 4 ;), although I agree the last line should be "Take control of your life!"

I also like 2 and 4 but with these changes to them.
