Fine Murtle, honest
You have a good point, and you've clearly caught on early and are a natural MoneySaver now.
Not everybody, though, learns as quickly as you did - and the whole point of this site is not just to help people who have already fallen into debt traps but show them too how to avods them in the first place.
And yes, we talk to the student's board too now. (((crana999)))
Squeaky - I'm getting a bit confused ...
Yesterday we were offered 4 options and asked to vote/comment.
24hrs later, you have narrowed it down to options 2 & 4 but amalgamated them into Option Twenty Four.
Are you now asking that we make a choice from Option 24 or Option 24 or Option 24?(Hobson's Choice?)
Or, are we still voting on options: 1, 2, 3, 4, 24 and any other suggestions/comments we were invited to make?
I doubt *all* our Old Stylers have read this thread within the first 24hrs of posting it, so to have narrowed it down to a potential two ( 2+4) which is now amalgated into just one (that of Option 24) appear as though we're not really being given a full choice at all. So what happens to any subsequent votes for any other options?? Does this mean that 1 & 3 (or any other suggestions) are no longer "votable"?

um yeah, all seems slightly confusing... Maybe you should start a poll with the choices of 1, 2, 3, 4 (changing home -> life), "24" and see which is more popular, keep the poll open for say a week so everyone has time to see it?student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0

Nah Queenie ... we can only have one description.
As I said, options two and four were clearly the favourites, each needing just a little editing to improve them.
Since they were the favourites, and similar in a number of ways, I've tried to combine these two favourites into one post - just to test the water.
At the end of the day I can't hand MSE Martin 999 different descriptions to choose from. He'll be offered those original four, and will be pointed at this thread, when he gets back from his holiday.
IF, and only IF, a number of people post to say that the combined option "Twenty Four" is a good one might it be offered to MSE Martin as a fifth possible. (or replace one that has had very few votes) "IF" and "might".
Three or four "options" was the request so that's what I'm trying to do.
I'm asking in here because you all know what being an Old Styler is all about, and I believe that everybody should be able to have their say. We knew that if we just asked for new descriptions we'd get one (or more) per person so we've tried to create a short list that can indeed be tweaked a bit - but a short list was what was asked for.
I've also considered your "fifth" in this way too.
This is only day two and there'll be lots more comment and voting to come yet, and once the rush has slowed down I'll be coming back with the revised list and asking for a quick OK before sending it off.
At the end of the day it'll be MSE Martin who decides if and what.
I'm hoping that we can get together to give him a good shortlist to choose from.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
