British Gas Collective Fix December 2016

Sorry if this is a stupid question!
I've registered for the Cheap Energy Club, which is showing a worthwhile saving of over £300 a year. We're keen to switch but I've just noticed that our fuel bills are in my husband's name. (The payments come from our joint account.) Is the mismatch in names between the MSE Club registration & the fuel bills likely to cause any problems/delay? (If so, I can re-register in the Club under my husband's name.)

Thanks
But then why is Martin Lewis saying it is the cheapest fixed dual deal?0 -

I wasn't aware he was
Statements made regarding it being the cheapest tariff have quifications attached. It is clear you do not meet such qualifications. In fact I'm not sure if anyone really does.
The advise I'm sure Martin will tell anyone is to consult a comparison site to find the best deal for them. If you use the CEC and BG comes out top - take that. If not take the one that does.0 -

Simplest way to avoid any possible issues would be to change the name of the CEC account you have.
(If your hubby were to apply for a new CEC account today, he won't get offered the collective tariffs)0 -
Hi
Can someone explain after inoputting my dtial for comapriosn the BG Collective Fix February 2017 comes up as 11th place! So it not the cheapest fix?
The cheapest that appear for me are:
1st place - Extra Energy (Fresh Fixed Price Feb 2017 v4) - why would i not switch to that?
2nd place E.ON - do they carry out a full credit check? There is contradictory information.
thanks
You may want to glace over the extra energy thread on here and all the issues people have had getting bills out of them before switching to that0 -

... then if you then you choose an alternative "Stella" supplier, do a search on them first for all the reasons people say never to use them either.
Then go back to the Extra Energy thread and see what I posted their earlier.0 -

That thought had struck me, too, but it seems that one can't change the name on the CEC account. (E-mail & property addresses can be changed, but not the name!) Have gone for the switch, anyway. Fingers crossed that there aren't any issues.0 -

Phoned BG this am to confirm no exit fees and was told there would be exit fees even though I was a BG customer and would remain a BG customer on a different tariff. Is this correct or should I try again? Coo not wish to be penalised and miss the chance to reduce bills. Lyn
Hi Plantation
Could you let me know which number you rang? Was it the special collective number - 0800 975 9712? If not it may be that the person you spoke to wasn't really sure.
We have it in writing from British Gas - it was a key part of the collective contract - that it WON'T charge exit fees for existing BG customers (or Sainsbury's Energy customers) moving from another fix to the latest collective tariff.
I hope this helps to reassure you.0 -

Hi Greyfox
It doesn't matter what name your Cheap Energy Club account is held in. The key thing is to ensure that you use the right name to go on the bills on the switch application form.
PS - the name on your CEC account can be changed by clicking 'edit monitoring detail' at the bottom of your account page.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi
Can somebody please confirm:
- Is a FULL credit check carried out for the BG fixed 12 months deal? There is contradictory information
- When cashback is offered is that taken into account AFTER the price comparison?
thanks0
