British Gas Collective Fix December 2016

Whilst MSE Martin always says cashback is never guaranteed until it actually lands in your bank account, I feel he would struggle to deny cashback for a switch to the MSE Big Switch tariff ... as the only way you can get the tariff is via the CEC site (or possibly Moneysupermarket which is the same comparison service and who actually pays the cashback).
Did you ever follow up why you didn't get the cashback you were entitled to?
Or didn't you end up with the Big Switch tariff?
Yeah I emailed Cheap Energy Club as advised to by MSE Dan. Got a holding response saying they'd chase it up with moneysupermarket/British Gas but nothing since. That was 4 weeks ago but it did say it may take some time to chase up
The issue arose because British Gas created a new order when they put me on the tariff and cancelled the deposit request so it doesn't look like I switched through cheap energy club even though I did.
This one should be smoother as I'm not switching brands this time, just switching tariff so there's less chance of something going wrong like last time0 -
I recently changed to the Collective Fix Dec 2016 and got my £30 for switching. Is it true that I can now switch again to the Feb 2017 fix and get another £30 and not be penalised by BG for changing so soon?0

To those already switched to BG, what is their online interface like? How flexible is it with direct debits/refunds etc?
OVO restricts DDs to 3 times predicted amount (my predicted is currently £27/month -_-).
Their refunds are also restricted where you can only reclaim money above 2 months in-creditMortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
Cashback sites: £900 | £30k in 2016: £30,300 (101%)0 -

This is something we're looking into - so thanks for the feedback
If you need help finding the Energy Club account that you'd switched your relative from, you could drop us an email at energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com with more details and we'll have a look for you.
When you switch to a tariff with the same supplier, the costs you see on comparison sites are the amount you would be paying on the new tariff given your usage doesn't change. Suppliers don't automatically change your direct debits for you. Whilst you're charged at the new rates of the tariff you switched to, your direct debits should be reviewed at your next direct debit review (as set out by your supplier).0 -
I am on BG collective fix Dec 2016 and switched last night to collective fix Feb 2017. Phoned BG this am to confirm no exit fees and was told there would be exit fees even though I was a BG customer and would remain a BG customer on a different tariff. Is this correct or should I try again? Coo not wish to be penalised and miss the chance to reduce bills. Lyn0

Like Plantation I am also on the BG collective fix Dec 2016 and I am contemplating switching to the collective fix Feb 2017. A £60 cancellation/exit penalty would wipe out virtually all of the saving on switching.
So i checked the T&Cs of the BG collective fix Dec 2016. The penalty on exiting appears only to arise on switching to another supplier. That is not to say that BG might not attempt to interpret it differently!
"If you decide to cancel
If you switch to another energy supplier before 2nd December 2016 we’ll charge you an fee of £30 for electricity and £30 for gas.
If this happens, we’ll collect these fees before any other amounts you owe us, either from payments you make or from your credit balance."

Hi
Can someone explain after inoputting my dtial for comapriosn the BG Collective Fix February 2017 comes up as 11th place! So it not the cheapest fix?
The cheapest that appear for me are:
1st place - Extra Energy (Fresh Fixed Price Feb 2017 v4) - why would i not switch to that?
2nd place E.ON - do they carry out a full credit check? There is contradictory information.

If you want the cheapest dual fuel for you, based on the details supplied, then you should switch to Extra Energy:)
Have you checked each fuel seperately? I suspect even more savings are possible for you that way0
