    • I have paid towards my debt £299.88 (this is minimum payments plus £25) and will use any extra I earn to pay towards it too. This month I have however paid for my MOT and car tax from my wages and didn't use my credit card or add to the debt :j
    • I will have to plan who to help as I am a little stuck of ideas for this one, any suggestions?
    • I definitely want to make £80 this month, although not sure how. I'm putting in an invoice today for some extra work I did but I did most of that before today so I think it's probably cheating!
Thanks for the thread apple - I am really excited :)

Awesome news on paying for your car without using the cc :T!

Helping people is meant to be looking for little things as well as planning things to do. So, picking things upu if someone drops them. Holdin doors open... Making someone a cup of tea...

No cheating on the making £80, eh! Can you do any tutoring this month?

jenner - hope you get to enjoy cooking!

black cat - welcome. You have been numbered.

I drank my water this morning, have done my 500 kettlebell swings and have remained grain- and sugar-free. Yay! And a first NSD to boot. :D

Also have found a pair of unused cycling gloves to give to a friend. Item #2 to go. Bob - just so you know, nappies do not count :rotfl:!

  • [*]budgets are allocated - took £10 off this weeks.

[*]15 NSD - managed it last month, but my xmas shopping took a plunge!

[*]lunch to work - me and dh do this anyway

[*]Declutter 80 items - no problem, last months pile of clothes is still waiting to be moved!! Lol

[*]Toiletries and cleaning products – I do this anyway, im still using last xmas's shower gel stash!! I could moisturise Wales!!

[*]You will!hone and tone!your food cupboards by!meal planning!and!batch cooking. (Even doing enough for one extra meal counts - the batch cooking, ive started doing, however, i start maternity leave this month and money will be tighter from now on so ive started a little stock pile of extra tins to help us in the tight months. Not missing the extra few pence now, but i know in a couple of months I'll be struggling.

[*]I'm giving a big bag of clothes to a family i know as she is single (her husband died) does that count as helping others?

[*]You will go on!2 outings. Nothing planned. I might use this as my thurs afternoon out with friends, and treat myself to food with them instead of making my excuses to go home.

[*]You will!donate!£5 or time to a charity. it'll probably be the foodbank, as the church i take ds to for playgroup run the food bank.

[*]The hardcore among you will aim to!make £80. I'm off ti a flying start on this one, listed an item destined for the garage on fb today and its sold and been collected. £20!
Also sold an item, on fleabay, finshed today for £2.19. So thats £22.19. :) also made £9 on fleabay last week (not counting it for this month) and ive paid it off the n3xt account this morning, with is now in the 1 hundreds!
Dd'd old phone is also on fleabay and bids are up to £46, and ive sent dh's old phone to m4zum4 amd am waiting for the £45 back! I will keep going though because i need to get rid of lots of things before baby comes!

3 new habits – Appreciate dh more - had a dream he left me last night, and i was alone with three children!
    Drink more water!
Appreciate the small things in life and not aspire for bigger and better.

Today I am grateful for my lovely boss letting me go home as I'm not feeling well, dh looking after the children all weekend whilst ive been at work, and dd tidying her bedroom! :j
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Sorry enormous post!!!

  • Hello Everyone,

I can't believe we are in November !!.

Today was not a SFD as we had ran out of bread :( . I have to get petrol tomorrow but as it is budgeted I will be having a SFD.

I read all the magazines I had bought last month (there was a lot), they have now been recycled and I will NOT be buying any more.

My SIL gave birth on Friday so we went to meet the newest addition to the family so that was lovely.

I have been struggling today and been emotional not sure if it the apprehension of a new month but I am finding it hard living with MIL. I am going to look through the bills we have and see if we can reduce them to try and get some extra money.

I decided to book to have my nails done for £20 to cheer me up but then felt so guilty of the cost and up keep that I will be cancelling the appointment so I am pleased that I am slowly changing my mindset.

    Today I am grateful for

    1. Having a supportive OH
    2. having good health
    3. being alive

Back to work tomorrow so will be having a chill with my OH.

Hope you have all had a nice first day of November will check in with you all tomorrow.

    night all
    lucky xx

Well I've had a very productive day. Got the kids to tidy and dust their bedrooms, cooked a gammon joint in the slow cooker, made a blackberry and apple crumble, got two loads of washing done and almost dry on the line, walked the dog for an hour. Also filled my car up as planned, swept the mountain of leaves our trees (we have a lot of trees) have dropped onto the pavement as they were slippy, entered the gas and electric meter readings online, found 4p (in the leaves). The kids school shoes have been polished and sprayed with waterproofing spray, DS's uniform is out for tomorrow, DD's bags are packed and in the hallway (for school, I'm not chucking her out:D) and her planner is signed with some notes to the teachers. Phew.

At half term DD brought home 4 books of raffle tickets with a letter saying she was to sell at least 4 books at £2.50 for 5 tickets or 50p each. I am sending the whole lot back, I donated a bottle of wine for the raffle and I would have bought tickets if they had been the usual 5 for £1. There is no way I am having her tout them around friends, neighbours etc as it puts them on the spot. To add insult to injury DS is having a non uniform day on Friday which is £1, the money is going to a charity of schools choosing and it is annoying as I would rather give that £1 to a charity that meant something to me but obviously they know that no-one is going to want their child to stand out like a sore thumb in their uniform. School fundraising really gets my goat, it never blooming ends.

Today I am thankful for the weather - it was 18 degrees here, for getting my washing dry and for DS helping clear up the leaves.

Bob - glad to hear you are feeling better.

Lucky - yay to the baby and sympathies over living with MIL. I couldn't live with my MIL, the very thought of it is truly horrifying.

      • You will set your budgets for everything by planning ahead. Done – I love my spreadsheets!
      • You will pay to your debt or savings first. Done but hoping to save more.
      • You will achieve at least 15 NSD. Working on it.
      • You will not go to any chain coffee shops. This is the hard one for me!
      • You will take your lunch to work every single day. Already doing this.
      • You will remove 80 items from your house. 27/80 ready to go to charity shop.
      • You will use up your toiletries and household cleaners before buying any more. No problem.
      • You will hone and tone your food cupboards by meal planning and batch cooking. Aiming to empty freezer by end of month.
      • You will go on 2 outings. Choose wisely. Spectre and one other.
      • You will tread lightlyon our planet – get out there and enjoy fresh air every day. Will aim to walk more with OH.
      • You will donate £5 or time to a charity you support. Regular monthly Food Bank donation plus others.
      • You will come on here every day and post three things you are grateful for. 1) OH. 2) I’ve got a job. 3) Father’s improving health.
      • You will reach out to help other people. Mentoring.
      • The hardcore among you will aim to make £80. Not aiming for this.
      • You will also START 3 new habits this month, ones that are simple and will make you feel better. 1) drink more water at work. 2) In bed by 10.30 Monday – Thursday. 3) eat breakfast every day.
  • Hello again, fellow turtles!

    I am thankful for:
    1. A very enjoyable weekend. We had a couple visit our church and gave very eye-opening talks about family finances. It ended today with a private audience with them over a sumptuous lunch. We got to know more about them as a couple, their successes and failures with money. They are self-made millionaires but the most down-to-earth, warm and lovely wealthy couple I have ever met. One thing that will remain in my mind forever is that they achieved their successes not by dreaming to becoming millionaires but by doing everything wholeheartedly and for the best interest of their family. Money isn't what motivated them most but their family.

    2. We managed to bag our first NSD today. Although we paid for our lunch, it was budgeted for separate from the groceries/household and the dining out budgets.
DS1 came along but his lunch was paid for by the guests.

    3. i am grateful for a good almost summery weather today. I managed to drink lots of water and had 3 of my 5 a day.

I am on an early shift tomorrow so I will try to get to bed early....like now. I feel like the bed is calling me. See you guys tomorrow.
