    Morning all,

Sorry for my absence, I must try harder.

Congratulations bob on the debt and hugs to you and your friend.

Yesterday was payday and a spendy day. Bought biscuits, paid deposit for my Christmas do and bought some Christmas bunting that was being sold for charity.

I was and am grateful for:-
    1. My first counselling appointment being really good
    2. A thank you from a colleague
    3. Good chats with colleagues

It just said thank you for applying and the card will be with me in 7 days. Not actually got a confirmation email or anything. Wonder if I typed the wrong email ending though. Did you get anything?

It's pay day today so I am now using December budgets which I will post details of next month. I have transferred £86.50 to the EF so that is looking good and have paid £60 towards the debt today, this is an extra payment on top of the DD on the 1st of each month.

Yesterday I received my co-op share vouchers, I am an energy customer with them and got £9, this will go towards Christmas food and drink I think. I sent DD with a cheque today for £13.50 for her school trip and will pay the other school trips on parentpay later today, also paid the quarterly water bill of £75.

I am planning a quiet day today, I had planned a day off exercise today so of course the weather is glorious, tomorrow will be raining again when I plan to run. I finished the last of Sunday's chicken yesterday, we got a meal for 4 on Sunday from it, plus chicken noodle soup on Monday then I had the rest for lunch two days running made into coronation chicken with a jacket potato. There is a portion of last nights chilli left over to have with another jacket potato for lunch.

Tea tonight is salmon fillets with baby sweetcorn, grilled tomatoes and fried potatoes.

    Me again.

I have just done a calculation on my debt and we can now bring our debt free date forward from February 2017 to December 2016. This makes me so happy that we will be starting 2017 only owing the mortgage god willing.

  • Hi everyone!

I've just about recovered from the fair last weekend. It's was sooo cold! Calling thanks for the reminder about cardboard. I did read it in time, although I didn't get chance to reply. I took over £300, which is a good amount for my little business. I have another fair this weekend. Not expecting to take as much, but am feeling hopeful.

misstara hope your gran is ok.

Bob sorry to read about your friend. Well done you on getting below
    3k.

Ive also just got below £3000 with my credit card debt. I have taken the decision to just make the minimum payments each month while its on 0% and the money I would usually overpay is going into a savings account to earn interest. I will then use it to pay off a lump sum, hopefully before the 0% ends.

My new job has been confirmed now they have had my references and medical through. I handed in my notice at my current job yesterday and feel a huge sense of relief to be leaving!

I'm looking forward to December as I will start my new job and also have lots of festive events planned, including a panto that I got free tickets for. Oh yes I did! Christmas shopping is almost done and I have £37 M&S vouchers that I can use for any other bits I need.

    I am grateful for:
A day off and the house to myself.
DH bringing me coffee in bed before he did the school run.
    Happy children.
  • Hello,

sorry to hear some bad news about people being ill etc.

Dolly well done on moving that date forward and Bob on getting under 3k.

Was tempted to go food shopping and stick it on my CC and then pay it off when I get paid over the weekend. But resisted. Instead raided the house for shrapnel and got enough together for milk, a loaf and some strawberries maybe for the kids. We're still fine for dinner for a few days.

Think I'm having a midlife crisis at 37. Need some winter boots so am bidding on Doc Martens on ebay that might be a bit too cool for my age (vintage green and a grey mid calf pair). Won't spend more than 30 on each so prob won't win them anyway. 5 days to go. OH would be relieved as he doesn't like them. They used to be my only footwear for years in my teens/twenties. I'm thinking practicality, they last for ever compared to the shoes I bought recently ;p

    Off back to work

Sorry to hear about those who are ill, health is so important.

Thrifty, I bought two pairs of doc martens last year and I've had so many comments! They were second hand too but hardly worn but worn enough that I didn't need to wear them in. They are so very comfy. So embrace your inner hipness ;)

Spent day day here, I did an extra shift at work and because I had to speak to the builders before I did school run and then onto work I didn't get all of my stuff ready for lunch so I had to buy a coffee at work for 30p, however I did make a sandwich. I had to have coffee cos I worked till 2am in the morning then was up at 630am, as I'm hoping to do every Thursday till Christmas now I must be better organised next week. I'll post my full end of month totals later on when I've got the kids sorted.

A good day for me. Found my diary last night and had written down 12 noon till 6pm for engineer's visit, so reset alarm clock. Aimed to get there for 11am as I wanted to bring some of the things in the shed inside and near to front door for transporting back here.

Engineer came as I was eating my sandwich - he was finished by 10 to 12 so glad I was early. Spent three hours there. Brought bed and wardrobe pieces from cupboards they were hiding in (11 trips up and down stairs). The hm compost and soil is nearly all bagged and lined up by the side of the drive and more things from the shed are in the dining room. Cut a basket of variegated holly for decorating (possibly cemetery).

Spent £2 for bus there and back. So tired now (may be indulgent and have second bath). Coat, jog pants and possibly panda hat all need a wash. Scrubbed my hands but still have dirt under my fingernails.

Got back here and DS3 said I had to ring the doctor's asap:eek:. Luckily the receptionist only needed some personal details for the counseling referral. I asked about the x-ray results and they were normal so have saved myself a trip to the doctors (a morning and £5.20 if I went on the bus).

I had decided to do an on-line shop. I had a £12 off £60 spend and thought if I bought a small turkey, other meat, stocked up on tins and toiletries plus fresh fruit and veg it was worth it. However it finished on the 24th so back to muddling through.

Today I am grateful for getting things done (it was tough, I am tougher), for a pleasant workman and for being back safe and warm.

    Hi everyone :)

So sorry Bob to hear about your friend. Congratulations Bob and Welshkitty on getting below 3k :T Do take time to rest where you can Bob :)

Dolly well done on bringing the date forward :T

Thrifty I too was a lover of DM's so comfy and last forever. Now I slum it in Uggs, lol. They are so comfy and toasty, i can't seperate myself from them.I hope you do manage to win apair.

Misstara, hope your Gran is ok, sending you hugs x Mothernerd, glad all was well today and Fmess, glad your counselling session was a success :T

Well tomorrow is payday, but I already have had to borrow my emergency fund to tide me over:(However, I'm grateful that was an option. I felt really ill today coming home, but soon came to my senses when my my eldest insisted on getting a takeaway to give me a rest. He was paying, he's so stingy, I wondered if he was ill himself :eek:However, I'm eating it, so it wasn't a figment of my imagination :rotfl:

Well I already know I'm going to be stepping on hot coals as far as finances are concerned for a few months, so I'm just going to do as much damage limitation as possible.

Today I am grateful for listening to fellow turtles and having an emergency fund :) For my son's generosity and my daughter feeling confident after her first exam this afternoon for her degree in medicine :) Hugs to everyone and have a good evening.
