I think it has been a few days since I last posted on here. Oops. Working 4 days, coupled with all of dd's usual stuff and dh still recovering is all a tad tiring!

People do seem to be working very hard and getting by well - well done one and all :T.

Anyhow, a few more NSDs in the bag and not much spending here, which is satisfying. My church ran a craft evening last night and I made £26 to add to my 'making £80' total, an unexpected bonus.

Dd has a Stone Age day nest week and we have been trying to think of a costume. They can wear anything, and will be making shelters and flint napping, so it needs to be able to get mucky. The image in my mind of the costumes worn in '10,000 years BC' is not a helpful one! (fur bikinis...). I've been on a quest today for grey or brown items, and found her a plain long-sleeved grey teeshirt for £1.25 which should be good.

Am impressed with people's planning for Christmas, as I'm ready for dd but not for anyone else!

Walked the dog and the kids to, around and home from the woods this morning. The kids wore there wellies and DS was moaning about his being too small, he's mentioned it before but today he was really complaining so after lunch we nipped into a little town near home to see if we could replace them. We found a pair of Dunlop ones which had been fairly worn down on the heels but they were £5:eek:, I left them there. Popped over the road to Oxfam and found a pair of nearly new ones reduced from £3.99 to £1.99 - they are now DS's. DD found a skirt she liked for £3 (it was just a primark one) and it had a little hole in the lace so I pointed it out and she got it for £1 - a much more reasonable price for this brand - and I will repair the hole.

Me and DH have cycled, it was 2 degrees when we set off and much colder when flying down hill, I really need that curry now.

    Have a lovely evening all.

LOL Apple, regarding the bikinis :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: And like you only DS, well the youngest :o has got a look in. I did get my middle son a North Face body warmer he was after, the other two will get £50 each. Dolly, well done for looking again for wellies for DS. I have always wondered why they choose to price items from Primark as though they were cast offs from Gucci, lol.

Productive day for me, in spite of the temperature outside never getting beyond 3. Brrrrr, I'm tired, as always but feel like I've gotten lots done. Housework, kids clubs, shopping, car cleaning etc. Still huffed with dh though.
Anyway - today I am grateful for
    1. Filling my trolley with £96.75 of goods in Mr S and paying just £30.25 thanks to double up and money off vouchers.
    2. Being very close indeed to finishing my Christmas shopping.
    3. Finally getting round to washing and hoovering the car out.

Spent some money which will have to come from next month's budget. Browsed through the 'mood' cookery book which made me very hungry. Lists of ingredients and suggested recipes to help with low mood, anxiety, fatigue, depression, poor concentration, over-eating, depression and sleep problems (all ticked) and probably a few others. Only ones I definitely don't have are PMS and post-pregnancy blues.

Lots of things I have been craving - bananas, broccoli, turkey stew, ginger are all helpful. Some of the things I have been making do without - yoghurts because the once I like are too dear atm (also missing my porridge oats because I stir them into fruit yoghurt) or the ones I like or are best value are at further away supermarkets and I haven't felt up to walking that far. So bought some things to mix and match with what I already have.

Will need to adjust some recipes to fit with my diabetes and others have expensive ingredients (can't see me buying jars of artichoke hearts anytime soon) but will make a start tomorrow cooking using things I have.

Had a lovely afternoon. We had a 'reindeer parade' today with four reindeer (+ brass band, people from shops in costumes and pensioners on mobility scooters at the back) and when they went into their pen at the end (between the bus station and the shopping centre) they were joined by two baby reindeer born in June (really sweet). The eldest reindeer, Elvis, was nine, the youngest of the bigger ones was four.

Today I am grateful for reindeer, getting interested in food again and being able to walk/ stand for about an hour and a half.

I haven't managed any more NSDs, only 6/15 at the moment, I'm aiming for 5 next week as we head towards the end of this challenge.

I donated my £5 to the local food bank.

I drank coffee in coffee shops TWICE this week, both in the same day, maybe that doesn't count? :o

I am grateful for good health, enough cash heading into Christmas, and all you lovely people on here. :D

    Morning all.

DS's football has been cancelled today so we will walk the dog this morning then me and the kids are making shortbread dipped in chocolate, this is a practice run as we are making some as Christmas gifts. Later me and DH need to get the caravan ready for winter.

I have a whole chicken in the slow cooker for tea, I will finish it off in the oven when the roasties are on. I find I get every last bit of meat off the chicken if I slow cook it and I am planning on using some of it for chicken noodle soup tomorrow.

Yesterday I was thankful for getting the washing almost dry on the line in the wind, good coffee and strong legs.

    Morning!

Didn't get round to posting yesterday but it was NSD 12 and today is 13.
Started planning Christmas gift shopping which will proceed once I've been paid, at least then I can budget. I've won two £5 prezzybox vouchers from anchor butter so will use them as seen a few items on there.
I am following the "something you want, something to wear, something to read and something you need" plan for Christmas, I have never felt the need to go over the top anyway but thought this would be a useful guide.
Oh and I forgot about this but I claimed a free bottle of process I through an o2 offer with virgin wines so that will be stashed away for Christmas.
Not much to report really, just trying to work my way through sorting out the washing today and generally tidying up.
Inlaws are taking us out for a carvery later which I'm looking forward to, my DH is working again today, so I won't see him till later.
    Today I'm grateful for

Crazy cat lady- yay for bargain shopping! We don't shop at mr s and mr t anymore so we don't get points but we save on our Mr I card and stock up on frozen stuff a few times a year.

Mother nerd- the reindeer event sounds so lovely. There's a Christmas event I would like to take the children to next week but it would be too expensive and I can't have the car that day.
Fmess, I put my winter duvet on last night. Made all the difference last night.

Dolly84- I get unnecessarily excited about cooking a whole chicken as I think about how many additional meals I can get from it!
