OH and I have spent the day cleaning the house. Sadly, no a spend-free day as we needed milk. My fault. We did have milk but I used 750ml (out of roughly 800ml) to make macaroni cheese... from scratch!!
Tastes really good and got five portions out of it (gave one portion to my mum as a treat). The rest are in the freezer.
    :)

Very almost got my car back but brother's one broke down again so I had it for a whole three hours.
On the plus side, he laughed as he said it only had quarter of a tank left. Jokes on him as I didn't fill it up before he took it away again.
    :rotfl:

People are being a bit weird about it (OH included). They feel that I should be asking for some sort of compensation for my brother using my car but it's not the way I was raised.
Our family have always helped each other out without looking for a reward. Four months is beginning to be a bit OTT though.
    :undecided

Currently finishing off the London plan. Have tried really hard to make it fun, busy and cheap. Very difficult to do when the people you are going with don't like museums.
We head off on the 30th November. Can't really decide how I feel about it to be honest. I feel that I should be more excited than I am but then I am worried that people will complain it is too expensive or that there is no need to do bits of it.

Downside is that I will have to wait until later on in December before I can pay my credit card... but then it will hopefully be gone.
    :j

    Hope everyone is doing okay.
    Hugs.

Wow 4 months is a long time to loan someone your car stewby. Does that mean you don't really need it? Could you sell it to your brother?

I too wouldn't think of asking for compensation however in reality he's used it for 1/3 of a year and you've paid for the road tax and MOT for the year. I'd find it very cheeky if he didnt offer you some money for using and even cheekier that he gave it back with 1/4 a tank of fuel!

Fmess - getting a free tree would be awesome!

CCL - sounds like you had a great day out! You are forgiven your coffee shop visit. :D

Stewby - the cooking is going well - go you! Have a great time in London.

mothernerd - bacon soups sounds scrummy. Shame theat most of it was scoffed!

Dolly - - well done on the fuel purchases and on getting more for less from sky.

Here begins the last week of November. Keep strong and stand firm.

  • Just a quick check in before I read all the posts I missed. Had another SFD and one SD over the weekend.

Spend the last 33 on food so it'll have to be SFDs till the 30th for me now apart from milk from the milk money pot.

Went to Edinburgh zoo one last time on our membership. Finally saw the penguin parade and the pandas. On Sunday I took the kids to our local park to have the first play in the snow of the year and then we went to a pals house for lantern making and taking them out in the dark.

This week I better get my thinking cap on and make a plan for the 30th when I'm off. I need to go round the schools etc to get application form, we need to order a BT engineer, I need to start making some of my homemade christmas gifts. And maybe start wrapping/sorting through the stash I have.

My aim is to do go swimming 3 times and running twice this week to get back into it before christmas.

    Off to catch up

    Hi all.

CCL - that hot chocolate sounds scrummy.

Stewby - I think your brother should offer you something without you having to raise the subject.

We have no money so today will be a spend free day. We do have to pay scouts subs tonight but that is from the kids activity budget so doesn't count as a spend.

Started an online shop last night for collection on Wednesday due to time and a very limited budget, at least doing this I know I won't go over what I have available plus it's free to collect.

Not much else going on really, have checked the bank this morning and there is still one DD for November to come out for mine and DH's mobiles and then the last grocery shop of this month, there is only £91.65 in there so no further spending will be done.

Tea tonight is chicken noodle soup with leftover chicken from yesterday, we will have garlic bread with it too.

I have work today, plus jobs around the house and hopefully a run.

    Afternoon everyone,

Boiler is still playing up and after speaking to the gas man this morning it seems a circuit board in it has gone. It's really starting to get me down now, it seems endless, one thing after the other and I'm not sure how much more I can take.
DH is being quite hard work ATM. His stress levels are so high that he is drinking and smoking a lot more than usual and eating not very much. He won't do anything about it though, he just keeps going and I am worried he will collapse in a heap, he won't listen and gets annoyed if me or anyone else shows concern. Blooming nightmare situation.
Anyway today is another NSD, number 14 now, whoop whoop. I think I've pretty much managed all the tasks this month apart from the doing 3 new good habits, I haven't had time to think of doing something for myself and everything for Everyone else.

  • Afternoon all, hanging head with shame as life completely took over, work situation worsened dramatically I threatened to leave I was offered A pay rise so stayed as all problems were sorted before agreeing to stay, but budget has taken an hammering sadly I still spend when upset, I have accrued another 5 NSD tho and have avoided coffee shops, venders and corner shops and not stock piled toiletries and cleaning products so have taken heed to lots, attended a charity event so my £5 was given twice over and all lunches from work and meals from home apart from 2. Alas still feel sad for giving in to the spendthrift in me. Going to read what I have missed for some inspiration.

3 things I am very grateful for 1/ Unwavering support and love from Hubby, 2/ Crisp wintery morning instead of horrific rain last week. 3/ My boss for standing by me 100%.

    Happy Monday folks.

Dolly - well done on your sky deal. Need to phone mine to see what deal they can offer me, my current deal ends 1st Jan. May cancel otherwise.

hope you get a free tree sounds a lovely village. Yesterday morning I looked out of my front bedroom window and in the middle of my lawn (on top of it) was a shrub. Now it wasn't that windy and it was too perfectly placed to get there by accident - one of my dog walking mates was clearing out his garden and thought I might like it. Need to find out what it is, like quirky people who do mad things:)

Today I was all excited thinking wardrobes were being moved finally. However son in law then had to rush to school instead. Poor grandson fallen now has egg on his head but he is okay luckily. So Narnia can still be accessed through my hallway.:D

Could do with some milk but may try and last till tomorrow, not making any macaroni cheese:rotfl:So may hit 10 SFD

Seriously cold today heating taken ages to get going in work and was off when I got in this morning. My feet are so cold.

You have achieved a lot! You halved your debt (I managed to acquire 5k debt while here for 7 years :o, didn't have any when I came here ). Everybody's circumstance are different, life gets in the way etc. You reduced your debt :T and keep going that way, focus on that.
