Hello everyone
Not been on for a while as I was on my honeymoon then spent some time seeing family down in Essex.
Not had chance to read though the whole thread yet but just wanted to come and give you all a quick update
Spent £54 on groceries today (that goes include a DVD that hubby got, even though I told him to wait until his B/Day and I would get it for him, however he isn't as MSE as I am and didn't want to argue)
Spent £40 on fuel a couple of days ago
Gave a couple of bits I didn't need anymore to my mum that I knew she would use
Have been going out everyday and getting my fresh air (went out lots on holiday)
Must admit I did go to Shaake today but it was a bit of a treat and I've not been in the MSE mood recently as it was hard to while I was away.
As I've not been on here for a while I've got quite a few things to post that I am grateful for:
1. My amazing friends and family for generously giving to my and hubby, money so we could have an amazing honeymoon.
2. The lovely people at Thompson for making me feel at ease on my first plane journey.
3. The amazing weather in Tenerife.
4. My brother for looking after my cats while we were away.
5. Facebook video calls so I could stay in contact with my family while I was on holiday.
6. Few extra days off work so I can get more done at the house.
7. For this website
There are lots more but I can't think of them now and don't want to post a HUGE post

This is amazing and has really helped me to refocus for the rest of the month...

Stay STRONG and true to yourself today, no matter what happens, no matter what anyone else says, no matter how they act. Everything ends at some point. Good times AND bad. So persevere through the hard times knowing they will be over and you will get through them, and be present to enjoy the good times with as much gratitude as possible. Control what you can (your behaviours and thoughts), cope with what you can't (the behaviours of others), command your morning, conquer the chaos, and concentrate on what counts. Never give up on what is right for YOU.
As you all know I broke myself making an extra debt payment to get myself completely debt free, so the finances are very tight. I'm still under budget food wise, have done a mass of decluttering, and am so far a little over £300 made from extra bits and bobs.
I've done less well on the exercise - it's been so stressful without finding time for that with dh being off work poorly. I am going to try and restart this again as of tomorrow - I'll go to my friend's exercise class after school which will get me started.
As for new habits - the no alcohol is going really well (none apart from celebrating my being debt free). The kids are being given chores, but getting them to do them is another story.
I've bagged another nsd today and even more importantly I got 2 hours of time back to myself. Dd has decided that she doesn't want to go to tumble class any more (which I am secretly thrilled about) - and I got an extra 2 hours to visit my mam, do some batch cooking and even list a couple of bits on eBay...
Things I am grateful for today:
1. My extra hours
2. It being warm enough to keep the heating off
3. DH having a good day, and staying off the beer... :beer:Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Thanks apple will try to refocus tomorrow and see how I have done so far this month. Pretty sure food spending is under control.
Another Sfd today and another painting day! No more for few days my eyes are really sore tonight.
Downloaded map my walk app. this morning something new? Walked 2 miles just to test it out, wanted to get undercoat on so I could gloss tonight.
Plumber tomorrow so money will change hands. I might be cheeky and ask if he would collect furniture for me , next road and he has a huge van. Happily throw extra cash at him well not much beings trained turtle.
Bob how lovely for you. £500 very nice.

Three things I'm grateful for:
- cheesy Christmas feel-good film on the TV
- Dad continuing to make a good recovery
- OH running a deep bubble bath for me
Must come back and post NSDs. I also need to de-clutter some more items - only found one more since the initial 27!
Hope everyonne has a good week0 -
Spent some money (will add to total later). Quick walk round town and sort of got chatted up when I stopped for a rest on the way home (it must be the smiling). Another man had looked at me earlier as well. I'm so used to being totally anonymous/ blend in with the background that I noticed. So pleasant undemanding non-threatening chat with a stranger. I was helpful because he didn't know where he had left his car so I pointed him in the direction of the two nearest car parks.
Will consider the month's progress tomorrow - feel I am not fully focused, bit of a scatter gun approach.
Today I am grateful for brighter weather (still damp but not so grey and miserable), for pleasant chats and good books (finished one of the more serious, not joyful and it managed a happy-ish ending). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
chocolatelover - welcome back from honeymoon!
bob - awesome news on the extra £500. Am I right in thinking that you'd had this sort of thing suggested before, but it had fallen through? Hope littl'un is sleeping more.
mothernerd - is the feeling of a scattergun approach due to knowing that for the first time in aaaaages, you have enough money to eat??
calling - hope the man with the van is amenable to collecting the furniture for you.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Apple -yes. I was offered £1200 for a days film work before but the company decided the premises were too small. It's actually pretty bug so not quite sure that was the real reason...I'm hoping to get more of this sort of work in the new year.
Just had our Health Visitor meeting. She was lovely and very reassuring about how the baby is doing, how I am doing etc. I wasn't worried about anything anyway but always nice to be validated by a professional.
Anyway going to get on now she's left. Have good days all.
