NST: Standing Firm in November

Happy Monday,
as usual was absent over the weekend, plus our internet box thingy is on the brink.
Nothing much happened. Spend a bit more money than planned as OH is in-between jobs and pay cheques so I put fuel in the car and lent him some money for this week.
Yesterday I tried making my first cheese and made halloumi. Can't believe how easy it was. It is a bit softer than the shop bought variety but that's because I was impatient and didn't get all the whey out. Will try other varieties soon too. Will definitely work out cheaper than decent quality shop cheese. The most expensive item is the organic milk and I don't even need that for all cheeses as some work with normal milk.
Tried to get a goose on Friday in Mr L. but they were already sold out! Will keep trying.
Today I'm grateful for:
- being safe
- my husband being abducted by aliens and replaced with this man who helps out unprompted (caught him in the bedroom putting washing away!!!)
- the sun shining and lifting my mood
See you laterDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
chocolatelover - welcome back.
CCL - glad your DH had a good day, hope he has more of those than bad.
LSD - wow to your extra payment, that is fab.
The sun is shining here today for the first time in days. I have the washing out on the line in the wind, I doubt it will completely dry but should blow the thick out of it - as my mum would say.
Yesterday I repaired a pair of Long Tall Sally yoga pants, I have to buy pricey exercise gear usually to get the fit right due to being tall, there was no way I would let these go just because they were getting holes in the seams. I don't actually wear them for yoga, I do my dvd's in them. I also got rid of 5 empty cotton reels, they were just mini ones but still good to get them out.
I am hoping to go cycling today and will walk the dog, everywhere is water logged so I will be sticking to the paths today. I need to clean the bathroom and various other jobs around the house today too.

calling - the cauli cheese was super yummy. I hate eating it any other way.
bob - it is a pain paying a premium to get the extra length, I do wear my clothes for years though so it probably doesn't cost me any more than going to Primark, wearing it once, washing it and then binning it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Thank you everyone
we had a lovely time
Last day before off before going back to work tomorrow!taken the time to tidy the house, currently sitting in the lounge and for the first time since we moved in almost two months ago it's tidy and feels more like a home
the other rooms are a mess but at least I've got my lounge!!
Wanted a NSD today but found a chair on FB last night that we needed for the lounge (only £10) and while I was out got some bits I needed from A!di to save another trip (so did save fuel)
Done a lot of tidying in the house and found another couple of things I'm going to give away/recycle
Been doing a lot of washing so been in and out of the garden hanging the clothes out.
Three things I am grateful for today:
1. FB because I found a bargain
2. My husband for working 6 days a week to help provide
3. My manager for giving me an extra day off work before I go back

bob - awesome news on the extra £500. Am I right in thinking that you'd had this sort of thing suggested before, but it had fallen through? Hope littl'un is sleeping more.
mothernerd - is the feeling of a scattergun approach due to knowing that for the first time in aaaaages, you have enough money to eat??
calling - hope the man with the van is amenable to collecting the furniture for you.
I can't believe there is money in the bank. I have to keep logging in on-line to check that it is there. Still feeling a bit fuzzy headed and think the long lasting but minor health niggles are getting me down. I don't think I am eating well so have taken two books from the library today, one low cholesterol recipes and the other using food that are especially good for improving your mood.
Feel in limbo, waiting for the house purchase to go through. letters are arriving about my debts. My main bank, which held two of the debts has sent two letters for each (4 separate envelopes) plus one about each from StepChange with the response they have been given. They are slightly contradictory. I am not stressing about it because I am hoping the house sale goes through smoothly and therefore it is only a short-term situation. I don't think I have the energy to be stressed atm - possibly been so stressed for so long that I am like an elastic band that someone has let go of.Must be annoying to have to shop at a place for tall women Dolly. Men don't have that hassle do they.
I was always amazed that my ex who was a much more extreme shape than me, had no difficulties getting clothes from shops and market stalls. There should be a law against men of a certain age wearing jeans (I blame the Rolling Stones). We did get directions to a specialist store that sold expensive tailored suits (ones that had been made to fit and not collected) when he was contracting. DS3 has 'daddy's genes', poor child, just scrapes under door frames and I have to buy his socks online and when I can afford his 'overcoat' (the other two had them for my father's funeral) his is going to cost a lot more as we will have to get it from a specialist store (unless I can find out where the store his father used has moved to).
Today I am grateful for libraries (got an armful of Christmas books some naughty some nice), for food in the freezer (still mostly bread and veg but odds and ends for lazy days) and for a restful weekend. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Well the 2nd half of the month has started well with a nsd. Picked up two deliveries, one from mr.t (bought with clubc4rd vouchers) and one from b00ts, again bought with points
I did have to get dh some imodium, i got t3sco own brand, not counting it though as its medication and really was necessary, he's been getting on my nerves all day, the sooner he's back in work the better!! Lol.

1. My slow cooker
2. Freebies from shops for collecting points
3. My new bank account sending me £100 for swapping which ive put in the bank today, and will pay off the cc when its clearedStill here..... but working on that!0 -
