Hello everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend so far.
Yesterday I had a spendy day. DS had a party at a play place and DD was going to play at a friends but ended up coming because it turned out one of her friends would be there too so I had to pay out for entrance and lunch but it wasn't too expensive like some places can be.
Today has been SF, and I have now lost count of how many so far which is bad really but I know I have had a fair few.
Today I am grateful for
1. Being safe
2. Being warm
3. Being fed[STRIKE]497.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 286.34[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]182.00[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]180.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 130.00[/STRIKE] CC1 Paid!!:j

I always find it is amazing what you can get 2nd hand vs the brand new price. My example yesterday was finding a game on ebay for £8 as the case was missing vs almost £30 in the shops.
I suppose cars are the ultimate in that category. I've never had a new one. I don't think I could bring myself to pay the sorts of money a new one costs. £40,000 for a vehicle?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Here's a quote for today:
Stay STRONG and true to yourself today, no matter what happens, no matter what anyone else says, no matter how they act. Everything ends at some point. Good times AND bad. So persevere through the hard times knowing they will be over and you will get through them, and be present to enjoy the good times with as much gratitude as possible. Control what you can (your behaviours and thoughts), cope with what you can't (the behaviours of others), command your morning, conquer the chaos, and concentrate on what counts. Never give up on what is right for YOU.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I bought a Lego Star Wars set BNIB for about £15 less than RRP, was chuffed with that.
I've never had a new car either, now I haven't had one for a while I'm a lot less fussy about having a big family car and more something to pootle round in. I couldn't spend all that money on something that would lose several grand in value the moment it rolls off the forecourt.[STRIKE]497.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 286.34[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]182.00[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]180.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 130.00[/STRIKE] CC1 Paid!!:j

Thanks Apple :T I needed that! I'm another one that loves the good deals you can get second hand
I used to be a snob clothes wise, but where I used to work some of the charity shop had brand new clothes with tags from places I could never afford to shop at, for a fiver :T I used to love going in there and was totally converted

Great work
Yes I'm with you. I've never paid more than £2k for a car. We were always very lucky until our last vehicle an Audi A6 that had a dreadful oil leak. And suspected transmission failure. Since that we have been car free for over a year. And doing fine" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Today I am grateful for good coffee, for good people stepping in to help dh so he could rest, for dd and her voracious appetite for reading, for sorting out my sewing machine, for tinterweb that allows all this sharing of experiences.
How are all the turtles getting on? Now we are halfway through the month and it is a good time to sit back and look at the last 15 days. Much of our debt-busting happens when we get paid and near the start of the calendar month, then we poddle along to the end of the month trying to garner NSDs, YS bargains, keep to budget, plan ahead.
So, how are you personally doing with the challenges this month? Some have it in their siggie (that's me, otherwise I lose track!), others keep spreadsheets, notebooks...
I often refer back to the first post about now, to be reminded of all that I signed up to. The 'ruthless' bit was very pertinent to me this month.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
