traveller - hope you get your DS back to normal soon, don't be cross with yourself about it. I once insisted my DD come on a 5 mile family walk when she said she didn't feel too well, turned out she had a bad chest infection and needed antibiotics. She still takes pleasure in reminding me of it now.
LSD - pregnancy food needs have to be dealt with however possible so don't stress about it, in the grand scheme of things getting your baby into the world safely is the most important thing.
Thanks guys for the support re my interview. I think it will take me a while to put it behind me but knowing that it wasn't normal will help.
Me and DH have been out cycling this morning in pretty heavy rain, exercise is done now though and that feels good. Today we have to collect a reserved library book for DS, it is the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book and I think it is fantastic that our local library reserves for free and he doesn't need to buy the book. We have a Christmas present for DS to collect from Tesco and one that my Mum and Dad took delivery of which needs to be picked up.
Whilst I am at Tesco we need to get milk and english muffins and some butter for making cheese sauce for cauliflower cheese.
Tea today is haystacks - yum yum, I can't wait.
Today I am thankful for hot showers, strong legs and bacon.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Afternoon all,
Quick query, anybody got any advice on dehumidifiers and if they are any good? My bedroom gets so damp in the winter and the windows are streaming with condensation.

Have you tried salt fmess??
Our campervan gets awful damp and we use pots of salt. The salt attracts the water and becomes solidified.
We do have a deumidifier for our loft, it runs on electric. Our looks a bit like this but bigger.

We've had it for a few years now so not sure if it still exists for sale.

Thanks stewby - no I haven't tried salt, but great idea.
I have just bought one from Curry's, gone for a cheap one that has great reviews but just doesn't have the complicated features that others do. Having read up online, I think it will really help as I have all the issues caused by condensation. I know spending money isn't very MSE but I think I need to prioritise making my home homely and I've put it on the cashback credit card and will pay it off next monthLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Thanks
Have seen them used on an industrial basis at my shop after the flooding. But in that case there were 3 running 24/7 & also fans blowing to heat the space and dry it. I don't know how much good one on its own does. Sorry not more help.
Agree you should try and fight it though as it can cause you health issues being in a damp environment." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I need to post an update really but I'm using my tablet and that can be awkward sometimes, so here are my three things I'm grateful for today:
- the lovely posters on here supporting those who need it
- being motivated and self-disciplined enough to do my marking quota today
- my OH, just because...

Today I am grateful for dd thoroughly enjoying her dance presentation, for yummy mackerel on toast, for a warm, dry and safe house, for knitting some innocent smoothie hats, for good books.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Yum mackerel. I make a mackerel pate sometimes it is really easy and so delicious. Not sure you could have it Apple with your dietary requirements but you wack a pack of peppered mackerel into the food processor and a pack of cream cheese. Add lemon juice, a good dollop of horseradish, salt and pepper and whizz if around for a fee minutes. It is so good! Warning - you will want to eat it all" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi everyone
Sorry that I didn't check in yesterday - tiredness got the better of me and I ended up in bed and asleep before I got caught up on here.
I've been quite productive today but I don't feel as though I've gotten a lot done to be honest. It's been mainly planning. I write a good list :rotfl: - trying to figure out the December budget and plans for the future.
Not a nsd either unfortunately - I spent £5.94 in BM bargains buying some plastic folders, hot chocolate, envelopes and packaging stuff. Even though it's been cold I got out and about for some fresh air.
Love and hugs to all that need them. November has been a tough month for a lot of people - I hope that now we're about half way there we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel (and no, it's not the train heading towards us). I'm feeling quite a bit better all in all - my week starts bad then improves usually.
Things I am grateful for today:
1. Being able to use a load of past-best veggies to make a wonderful sauce to serve with my home made gnocchi.
2. My dh feeling well enough to take ds to football so I could have some time for housework.
3. Making lots of plans and lists to keep me on the straight and narrow.:DNot giving up

Evening all,
Spendy day here today - did the food shopping (£16 in total), got petrol to last until payday, had a massage from the trainee therapist (cost £11.50 instead of £28) and bought a dehumidifier. I had a mini brainwave regarding the dehumidifier and opened up my sealed coin jar to find I had all bar £20 to pay for itSo mentally it seems like it only cost £20
Had a productive day and the house is now clean, except the lounge carpet which will be done tomorrow. I feel like a completely different person on a Saturday when I don't have to do any school work, the other six days feel so negative and stressful but Saturday is all mine and stress-free.
Hope the weather is ok for everyone. It's very soggy hereLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
