I already wrote & emailed to Talktalk instructing them to remove my personal information once our contractual relationship ends. I may well test that in 6 months or so by sending them a request for personal info. I think it will be worth the £10 it will cost me to find out if they have complied with my request.
Should they still be holding my details I will be on to the Information Commissioners Office with a formal complaint and my evidence.
I think all these companies you do business with hold on to personal details, that worries me, I think the law must be changed to force companies to remove personal data after a reasonable period.0 -
Oh well, speedy payment discount ends a month earlier0

I cancelled a mobile account with TT, 8 months ago and asked them to REMOVE ALL my account details from their servers - but they just closed the payment method - leaving ALL of my personal data in the DB !!
Given that they will be required by the UK Gov' to keep the details should the police come calling I think you have no chance whatsoever and are just wasting your presumably valuable time.
I think it was the EU data regs 2009 which were overturned by an EU court in ?20141/15?but HMG ordered isp to continue to retain the stuff (like most other EU governments) as it may be required under the RIPA 2000 provisions.0 -
see how good they are their email asks me to "TalkTalk would like to hear about your experience with our Agent"
and posts this
