I'm happy with that considering my pay was way out, it was more than I thought I would be able to do so that's a good thing.

And thank you for keeping the thread updated re totals and encouragement0 -
Happy birthday Helen and snap but I call mine 'only eight years to retirement'. My bank however has for the last three years chosen to celebrate my birthday by suggesting I might like to take out a funeral plan:eek:
I have been reading through over the last few days, catching up with all your posts you busy bees. My laptop broke. I got it repaired on Christmas Eve. Worked fine for 2 days then the cursor froze. Tried to get back to the repairer's twice and then tried something using a book from the library. After which it kept switching itself off when I tried to turn it on. Bought a 'new-to me' replacement but one of our visitors took it home. He has returned it, fixed (broken starter button) and DS3 is going to pay me for the replacement one.
The house sale has finally gone through and I am debt free. I still don't have a lot of money as my mother's bank account was the wrong sort, so the money for mother's bungalow went straight from my solicitor to hers. When I get the money mum now owes me, I can complete this challenge (she has been mostly too ill to go out). Then need to concentrate on upping my income to prepare for when DS3 leaves home.
Immediate challenge is to get mum moved to the bungalow after modifications (she and her partner both need a walk in shower) and get rid of all the junk. Added complication is she found her partner collapsed on the bathroom floor on Sunday and he's now awaiting a pacemaker. At first he was thought to have had a stroke (would have needed assessing to see if he could move to the bungalow or whether he needed to go into care). He already has Alzheimer's and various other conditions and could not manage if mum were not there all the time.
Sorry for long post, just feeling stressed atm. Will continue to read along and encourage you all where possible. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
