Morning Everyone....
Well I had a really good Night's sleep.....Monday's are always busy busy busy and I always seem to feel headachy and a bit sick when I get home....I think it's the Tube Line that I travel on on a Monday....but never mind, I am usually fine after a good Night's sleep
carbootcrazy - Thank you for your lovely words, sometimes I don't feel very special or worthy but I just have to try and remember that I'm doing the best I can and that people seem to appreciate that...I know, I can't believe it's nearly February either....Hopefully we will all make the most of this Year!!
stoplurking - I've Updated the First Page...keep it going hun, you're doing AWESOME!! Try the Monday thing.....and I bet it will make the Week start really great for you
crimson.addict - I'm soooooooooo glad that you love your new Car.....Enjoy it!!0 -
carbootcrazy wrote: »About the only sensible financial decision I made in my life:o was to never buy a brand new car straight out of the showroom. Even in the days when I was working and earning a very good salary I never succumbed. I used to go for demonstrators and that sort of thing, hardly any mileage on the clock and a huge saving on new.
Nowadays a demonstrator will be way beyond my budget and even if it was owned by someone previously I could never manage anything as new as yours is:(. There are often little-used older car bargains to be had though:j
There are some amazing older cars out there. Whilst your saving you'll have plenty of time to make sure you get a good one. My first car was a green peugeot 206. I bought it for £1000 and had to get my dad to drive it home as i was too scared. It sounds pathetic but i cried for 3 hours when i sold that car even though i'd just bought a 'better' sportier one.
The car doesn't have to be new or fancy to make it special to you. I have wanted a 308 for about 2 years! I think this car is made all the more special because of the wait. Hopefully the perfect car will come along for you when you have managed to save a good amount for it
I HAD to get a new car as mine was going to cost more to fix than it was worth. I have just been given a permanent contract at work, i don't drink, i don't smoke, i don't wear make-up, rarely buy new clothes so i figured i deserved to treat myself just this once. It has everything i wanted in a car (apart from the colour) so i'm hoping this will save me in the long run wanting another car.
And with the help of Helens wonderful challenge i should be able to get my savings nice and healthy againSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

ETA: £191.38 to go until I'm a third of the way there :j so I should hit that *checks calendar, does calculations* February 19th
ETA the second: I'm on a pointless calculations roll now. Should hit the half-way point on May 20th, which is about 4 weeks after my birthday.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

Hello everyone, I'm sneaking in the back door after having been away for I don't know how long!
Everyone's been really busy and are all doing so well with their funds. My next £300 should go in on 1 February and my little decorating fund is creeping up thanks to a bit of ebaying, some cashback on an energy switch (although I actually stayed with the same supplier!) and the spare change from my debit card payments.
In other news, the house STILL isn't sorted out with the ex, he's being a complete numpty. So whilst I have quite a bit of money I could stash in the EF, the chances are that I will have to use that on solicitor's fees. This should have been sorted months ago, but he's being spectacularly difficult, refusing to sign forms etc. That and the threat of redundancy have made me quite poorly, hence not being around here that much. On the up side - I'm not being made redundant this year! :TSo I'll have another year's service banked if we have to go through the same thing again next year - which we probably will. My decorating fund is looking increasingly like a spa-break-away-to-regain-sanity fund! :rotfl:3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Another one you'll no doubt be familiar with, 'I'm rich—I'm a happy miser!' could be my OH's motto:eek:0 -
