Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely christmas. Mine was more expensive than planned due to doing everything last minute. Ironic really as this is the year that I've been the most organised with my finances, however the one where i was most unprepared for christmas
However, i have now added to my EF again.
New #5 total now stands at £541.49
I also received the news from work that i will be getting a pay rise come January, i'll be looking to save the difference each month rather than spend it as I've learnt to live quite comfortably on my current wage, so that means more to be added to my different savings pots with my 3-6 EF taking priority.

I know what you mean about Christmas spending, Sophie
. It's odd isn't it how it's always the same day every year but somehow takes so many of us by surprise?:rotfl:
Congratulations on your pay-rise and well done on your plans to save it:beer:0 -
Good morning everyone! Nice to hear you had a good Christmas. Ours was quite simple and quiet and not very expensive yay! Woke up this morning and decided to round off our bank account. £4.54 sent to EF and with interests added by bank, our total now stands at £1738.08. Small amount, but every little helps."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150

Thanks Carbootcrazy
I normally have around £350 saved to spend on close family and friends, however family has been added to this year and didn't account for that for some reason :rotfl:i plan to have around £500 saved for next christmas now and anything that isn't spent when the shopping is done will be donated to the Great North Air Ambulance.
Thank you very much, it was overdue but still unexpected as non of us in the office expected the boss to stick by his word. Like i say, I've learnt to live on what i earn now... i could probably live on less if i really cut back, but the rise equals an extra £100+ a month and its definitely not being wasted!Mortgage Feb 2023- £249,210 MFW 2023 #20: £524.05/£500 (104.81%)0 -
Sitting here absolutely cursing. Yesterday, we sent off my final cheque to the credit card. It is now completely paid off.
:j
Then today, the washing machine has stopped spinning. Don't have enough money in the emergency fund for a new one.
Stopped writing this to go shopping. Have come home to find Dad has managed a temporary repair. Hooray!!Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

carbootcrazy - LoL yes, I see what you mean....I try to save enough for Christmas each Year but either I'm spending too much or Christmas is getting more expensive as some Years seem harder than others...or maybe it's just me!!

Right..unexpectedly I can put £500 into my EF. I am writing it down here so I am committed. In the past I would have thought of a million things to spend it on or just added it to the current account thinking I won't spend it but inevitably even when I am being good it dwindles down and I am not sure what I have spent it on.
So...if its transferred over I know I won't touch it unless I 'have' to so its a firm commitment and decision made.
Please add £500 to my total Helen0 -
