Wishing everyone a successful money-saving November:beer:.
A big thank you to Dobbibill for keeping the thread updated in Helen's absence and always being there to offer encouragement:A
Well, the best laid plans and all that......:o. My laptop has been playing up big time, has even been unusable some days:mad:. Sadly, was secondhand when I got it and it's just not cost-effective to get it repaired. Am limping on with it for now (strangely it's working reasonably well today) but know a new (or 'new to me') one will be essential before much longer.
I made £259.16 extra this month through selling stuff, surveys etc but rather than adding it to my EF as I'd initially intended I'm keeping it in my bank account to pay for/towards my 'new' laptop. I don't want to be adding and withdrawing money to this EF. Once it's here it stays here:j towards my 'new' car fund. I could always withdraw money for a laptop from my £1000 EF total on patman's thread but I really want to keep that intact for more desperate and expensive emergencies. Being on a DMP I have no access to any credit whatsoever:o. It's such a novelty for me to have any savings, I'm desperate not to break into them.0 -
£5 from surveys paid into the ISA today.
Total now £7927.89
While checking my app for my total, I noticed a cool new Savings Goal feature.
You put your target and date you want to reach your target, and it works out daily, weekly and monthly goals.
Apparently to reach my goal I need to save just under £300 a month. I can maybe manage around £120 with my wages overflow. I'm not sure I can match the £300, but it's worth a shot!

Morning Helen,
No need for any apologising - we know you are going through a tough time with your family and their health.
Our thoughts are with you and whilst we aren't able to do anything to help you at home, we can, at least, keep the thread going.
Getting anything in to the savings is always going to be tough when other things are going on, extra expenses, even just an extra trip to see your Grandparents can impact your funds.
We all send our thoughts and well wishes.

Lovely to hear from you again, Helen:j. In spite of all that's going on in your life you still make the time to thank, congratulate and encourage us all individually:T:T:T. What a star you are:A
Don't worry, we'll all be soldiering on here with Dobbibill keeping us 'keeping on';)
Big hugs to you and your grandparents:kisses3:. Some things in your life are far more precious than making/saving money. Try to take care of yourself too:). Easier said than done, I know.0 -
QUOTE Keeping Motivated.....wow, what can I say. :money: Well done! :T :T :T :T :T
Of course you can hang around, you don't need to ask. Have you got a 2nd target in mind yet? Maybe you're smiling too much to think of a new one just yet. Enjoy the satisfaction of reaching your target. I'm sure Helen will update the 1st page when she returns.
Keep on keeping on

Thank you..you seem so kind and its great how you keep up the motivation while Helen is away :A0 -
Thank you Helen
and I hope things settle for you soon in your home life x
I'll have a think about my next target0 -
Hi Helen
Can I join please I have a target of £3000? So far I have saved £915 towards this target.
I'm starting a new job at the end of the year on reduced hrs and salary, so won't be able to save as much as I was doing this year. This challenge will suit me better. I've previously been doing the 'save £12,000 per year challenge' Although I never reached the heady heights of £12,000
Thanks in advance
