Hiya All,
Similar to others, three of us are hoping to go to NY for my Mum's 60th birthday in April. I know it's early days yet, but a rough idea of a budget for flights and for hotels would be great.
It would only be for 7 days, and we don't mind heading out mid-week to keep the price down, but I really don't know where to start. Any advice on flight costs and hotels that are reasonable would be really helpful.
Thanks for any advice!!

for all sporting events that I've been to, (knicks and rangers) i've always booked through ticketmaster.com, and selected the willcall option..
never had an issue, always got my ticket, and enjoyed the game!0 -
This thread is great for advice but I would suggest trip advisor when looking for hotels,... ... We stayed at the Shelburne, Murray Hill ( Affinia Hotel) on Lexington, just a couple of blocks up from the Chrysler building, and it was excellent.
I think the moneysaving threads are working perfectly for recommendations on hotels, at least here, you have a chance to have a mini conversation with someone regarding the hotel, and that is more difficult with tripadvisor.
by all means, check out tripadvisor (i know i've got some reviews on there), but don't discount the vast amount of information us moneysavers have put up here on NYC hotels...0 -
No I agree, I like to read everything that people have posted. The info on this site was excellent when planning our trip this year. The thread must have been closed down as it was huge, but like here, new ones start. I appreciate the advice given here and use it in conjunction with other sites too.
As you seem a bit of an expert, I posted a query on flights on the 'cheap flights' thread, wonder if you can offer any advice?
Thanks.0 -
expert, probably not... addicted to NYC... definately!!
(i'll respond in the flights thread)0 -
Markymoo- maybe you are busy- posted on flights thread but it didn't show up as far as I can see. Time is running out on the BA world sale- any advice appreciated. Thanks0
