  • A newspaper that often features "people interest" type stories might be a possible way forward. I know the Daily Mail is one of those - so might be a possibility and its a large circulation newspaper. There are other newspapers that also do that sort of story.

My personal take on this is that, in OP's position, I'd investigate the ideas that various of us posters have given on here first and see where they lead to. After that - if she's still drawing a blank - then a newspaper might be a possibility.
  • I know this to as I do not know my real parents, From my point of view I could not give a hoot about this and whilst others may wish to know who there parents are many will not be bothered in the slightest.

If she moves on and gets together with another guy who then helps bring the child up they would more than likely see this person as a father figure and I would say yes 75% may wish to know the real father but I also know a lot of people similar to myself that do not care less and never will.

I understand the point you are making here.

I think most people would probably think "The people who have brought me up are my parents - even if they aren't biologically". That is certainly my own personal viewpoint - ie that its the ones that have put in the "blood, sweat and tears" that are the ones that count imo.

However - it is still a very good idea imo to have some sort of idea about what your "genetic inheritance" is - so that you know what sort of things to look out for and try and take preventative action. AFAIK - my genetic inheritance is absolutely totally appalling (couldn't be much worse if it tried) - and <cross fingers VERY hard> and to date its been possible to take evasive action with preventative healthcare specifically targeted towards the Most Likely Illnesses.

It is well worth knowing what dicey genes you personally might have imo - so that you can take appropriate preventative health care action.

This is where I do sympathise with people who don't know what their "genetic inheritance" is.

    I found this pic

Houses are visible there with the blue and white seats :money:
From latest comments from OP - I'd now be willing to bet that the one truthful thing he said to OP was about a flat in Carlisle.

I wonder if he still has that flat? Am now wondering how big a place Carlisle is?

EDIT; Just done a quick check - 71,773 people according to Google. Small enough that it may not be that hard a job to find him....

Second quick look - is he into football or rugby? There seems to be a fair bit of activity on those fronts there...
That round table thing is a group for men in carlisle aged 18-45 add that to him saying he's from carlisle and the stadium its a no brainer! That is the 1 truthful thing he has said :T

Might be worth going up to a game and seeing if you spot any familiar faces.

Re. the car, you can check the MID to see if it's still insured : http://ownvehicle.askmid.com/

It's unlikely the plate has been changed, but that'd confirm it's still in use and on the same car. Might be enough for child support to trace.

You can't make such assumption. A family member left when their 3 children were very young. The eldest (the only one who remembers them) was a bit curious but not that affected. The youngest couldn't have cared less. The middle one though got very upset about the situation, wanted to know all the details, understand why they'd left etc... Not everyone react the same, even within the same family and unfortunately, at this stage, OP won't know how her son is likely to feel about it. Better to try to gather as much evidence as possible, at least have evidence of having tried, and then never show it if never asked for then the other way around.

OP, you now have more to go about it, and it is promising. The link between Carlisle and the stadium might be just a coincidence, but it sounds like it is the best you've had to go by so far. If as someone else said, there are only a few of these cars around in the UK, surely finding out if there is one registered to a Carlisle address is the way to go next.

I expect you've checked Carlisle, which fits description, although a close up shot of someone in stand would probably not include both white
    seats and houses?
    brunton-park-carlisle-united-fc-east-stand-1419155603.jpg?

It's probably the same for most blue/white teams. Gillingham FC too.

(The photo - not the article)

To be fair the football stadium COULD be any, I support Peterborough United and we have a stand with blue and white seats spelling out THE POSH on one stand and 1934 on the other (the year the club was formed), BUT that shot of Carlisle United does look promising with the houses behind.

    What a bloody mystery.

OP, search his Facebook pix on Google image search and it will show you if they have been used anywhere else on the internet, you might find another account or an old account (e.g. MySpace or something from back in the day)
