Money Moral Dilemma: Should I pay for the groom to eat and drink on his stag do?

I had my stag do in Berlin this year.
I paid my way. I never even considered my friends paying for me!
If anything I felt a little bad that my friends had to pay out for themselves / lose work to accompany me!0 -
The stag should be happy that his mates are willing to pay for themselves and give up their time. If anything the stag should be paying the greater share.0

Ive been on several stag do's, a couple as best man where I could not decline to go. These things are expensive enough to go on, never has it been mentioned we should pay, or contribute, to the grooms costs. Even drinks have always been done in rounds with the groom getting his in, just like a normal night out. Its their choice to get married, you should not be paying for it.0

Ask her if this includes all the lap dancing and prostitutes too.
On a side note, weddings and stag dos have become more about spending more than your friends than about the marriage itself.0 -
I was never asked to pay anything on my stag do, and we've always clubbed together to pay for the stag on other stag do's that I've been on. BUT none of these were abroad and that's a different matter. As others have said, unless it's a surprise, the stag should probably pay for travel and accommodation, in my opinion. Especially if we're talking hundreds of pounds.0

I think the "bride" should be asked if she expects the "groom's" friends to foot the bill for his "adult entertainment" on the stag do :beer:0

I assume that, as the bride-in-waiting is only asking for the best man and guests to pay for flights and accommodation, she is happy for her future husband (meal-ticket / status symbol / puppy dog) to pay the prostitution costs himself? He'll need plenty of cash, as plastic doesn't work on the street yet (so I'm told). As she seems quite financially savvy, I'm sure she'd get an excellent Euro rate, avoiding any airport rip-off! The groom could even negotiate a BOGOFF. I'm sure his beloved would be really impressed! Nectar points anyone?0

I'm waiting for her to send invoices out to guests for attending the wedding reception
I think the best man/groom organising the stag do should be mindful of the groom's close friends' ability to afford the event. I assume the point of the stag do is for the groom's close friends to celebrate his upcoming marriage, whatever their financial positions?
I'll give you the first line of your best man's speech (for free!): 'my friend's wife is so tight that she ...'. :cool:0 -
!!!!!!?!
I've never heard of a bride or groom having their stag/hen do's paid for by friends.
Do they expect wedding presents as well??? lol
I'd tell these two where they can happily go.0
