Quick check in after an incredibly busy 13 hour day at work.
Unsurprisingly another NSD as I haven't been anywhere other than work and another school. Did manage to blag myself a free evening meal though, and stretched myself to a quick PAD to the emergency fund.

Evening all,
Good luck with the film crew bob
Hugs dolly, calling and traveller - we need to just keep thinking of doing it one step at a time. I am massively struggling with everything at the moment, my expenses are so high that they almost match my wages and I have very little to throw at the debts. I think the cold and the darker evenings and mornings are adding to my general down mood. It feels like that time when I feel the need to hibernate and wish I was a hedgehog.
Today was SFD number 5I had 3 fruit and veg and have done just over 11,000 steps. So they are my three positives for the day.
I've had a mixed day at work - kids were fantastic, parents not so!

Hello Everyone,
Sorry I have been AWOL.
Good luck OTG for your interview
Hugs to everyone that needs them.
I have managed 3 SFD not great but it's a start. Work has been going well and I am enjoying where I have been placed at the moment.
I have enrolled at college to do my Level Two Teaching assistant course and my GCSE Maths,This starts in two weeks I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
Applemuncher Thank you for the Christmas challenge It has got me thinking but I will start at the end of the month.
I have found the past few weeks very challenging, since relocating it has been a very stressful time with family etc. I am feeling really homesick and me not having a wage since July has been difficult as we have had a lot of expenditure. The finances do not look great we have a £6000 loan to pay off and we are well into the overdraft:eek:. We are living with my MIL and need to start saving for a house deposit as we want to buy, However finances are saying NO ! Thankfully I get a wage this week, I now get paid weekly not sure how this is going to work.
Sorry for rambling on I am just feeling really down at the minute and wondering if we have made the right decision.
Anyway I am going to stop waffling on and get ready to go to bed these early mornings are a shock to the system lol
Have a great day tomorrow everyone:j:j

Bob - good luck for tomorrow.
Hugs to everyone who needs one
Today has been a NSD, 5/20 and I've also been to the gym 3/12. I've had another day off today and haven't been up to much, bit of cleaning, reading a book and made bread, scones and flapjack.
OH made tea tonight and did chicken breasts stuffed with garlic and herb cheese, roasties and veg. Very yummy.
Back to work tomorrow so I better get myself organised. Night everyone.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Hi everyone!
Hugs to anyone who is feeling a bit down at the moment x
Bob to be fair to DH he was up in the early hours as he was feeling ill, it was freezing and he said he put it in so I wasn't cold when I got up. So, I will forgive him on this occasion.
Another SFD today, which I think means I am on no. 6 now.
Made an exciting discovery tonight - that pasta can be cooked by just sitting it in a bowl of hot water, it doesn't need to be boiled! It never occurred to me that I could save gas this way until I read it on this site. Got DH to put the water on before I left work and it was actually slightly over cooked by time I got home. It goes a small way to making up for the gas used putting the heating on!0 -
Just a quickie call in tonight.
Had a sfd yesterday but not today so I think that's 5/15 so far. Needed fuel today so did a bit of shopping, ys bread that I put in the freezer and a couple of ys bags of lettuce for the gp.
Have time tomorrow for a catch up. Hope everyone is OK

Hello DeafLeopard - welcome to the Ninja Saving Turtles! You are in!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Good morning all!
Good luck on the filming at your cafe Bob. I hope it all goes well and give a good boost to your trade. Are you ready to cope with the fame it will bring? Wink wink.
Group hug :grouphug: to those who are feeling down at the moment. As they say, the best way to eat an elephant is to take one bite at a time. Sometimes zoning in to these little bites instead of the bigger picture can help. Hang in there.
Luckystarr yay to finally getting paid. Hugs to you too for feeling the stress of relocation. Now that income is coming in, things will hopefully get better for you.
Great idea about the pasta welshkitty. I will try it too!
Welcome aboard, Deafleopard. I hope you'll find us all a lovely bunch.
Dolly you made me laugh - half the time I feel like shaking my parents in law senseless too.
9th day of the month and I finally managed to bag NSD number 3. Hooray! I need to go to the bank this morning to deposit some money and I am hoping I could stay away from the shops. Wish me luck. DS2's phone screen was smashed and needs fixing but I am hoping he could survive for a bit without it. Like any teenager, he doesn't use his phone for what it is intended for, to contact us or to be available when we want to contact him. It's mainly for games and watching YouTube, I am weaning him off slightly especially as the school has already started. Watch this space.
Day 3 of 7 this week, nearly halfway there. I am extremely exhausted and I am talking myself into getting to work every single time. Next decent day/s off won't be till the end of the month. I have confirmed attendance to the job interview on the 15th. When I can take a breather from work, I need to study a bit more about the job description. It is a little bit different to the job I do now so I need to show that I have done some research and I am the right person for the job. I have also discovered I will be going against my former colleague who is also shortlisted for the interview. Awkward, but as in anything in life, may the best woman win. Fingers crossed.
Another gloomy and chilly day today. I am pleased to note that hubby didn't get tempted to put the heating on. Let's hope it stays that way when he gets home from work tonight. I hope Mr. Sun is up where you are, have a nice day turtles!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Morning all. It is chilly and a bit grey here too. DH keeps telling me it will be 30 degrees by the weekend - he didn't say where though:rotfl:.
Bob - good luck with the filming.
Luckystarr - hope you start to feel more settled soon, you're in the right place here to keep up your motivation to save for a house deposit.
Calling - hope you enjoy your week off.
traveller - I order a bath and an early night for you:D.
Yesterday I picked some more blackberries, I have become obsessed and can't bear seeing them going to waste but I have to stop picking them now. I went for a short run last night and also skipped in the driveway when I got back. Today I will cycle after tea.
I need to call at Asda for milk and some bread rolls for the kids lunchboxes.
This morning the kids and me were adding up how much we spend on their lunchbox per day and think it works out at about £1 which includes a sandwich, yoghurt, fruit and either a cereal bar or chocolate covered biscuity type thing, I also send something for morning break as that would be to pay for at school otherwise (30p at DS's primary). A school lunch at primary school here is £2 now and DD's school is £2.15 for a sandwich and biscuit or £2.45 for a hot meal (she thinks although she did say £3 last week) so £83/month for them both with DD on the cold option  or £40/month our way.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
