They called me “to confirm my final payment details” but obviously Retentions as per the article. Call was 1w after cancelling which I did by phoning them to complain about price.
  • Hi all I've already put in my cancellation (contract ends 1st Oct) I've received a postal leflet offering sky signature + sports for £31 ...extra is hd @£2 ...uhd £4,,Multiscreen £10 ...not interested in movies kids or netflix....at the mo I'm paying £45 for sports and the old entertainment pack with HD on both......I think I could try and get the UHD for free and try and get the updated box but how does the above look or should I wait for a lower offer?   I was on chat and they didnt offer me anything like the leaflet offer...thankyou
These are the Good 'ol Days just wait and see!
  • Hi All, Just spoken to Sky as my Contract is due, got through to Retention's & haggled a deal that suited me, signature + cinema for £26.50 + £10 fee, still with my Sky+HD box, I can request upgrade to Sky Q at any time in future for free. So a lesser price that before but now have cinema. Could maybe of got more but happy with this.

I contacted them yesterday as I wanted to cancel due to furutre price increase, they offered me the following (I only have TV via HD+ boxes):
    Signature - £18
    Kids - £1
    Cinema - £9
    Sports in HD - £23
    Sky Q Multiscreen - £12.50
Sky Broadband Superfast with FREE line rental - £20
    Total £83.50
Free UHD + Sky Q 1TB UHD box and mini box.
    No set up costs.
I declined the offer and I am going ahead with the cancellation - lets see what happens between now and the end of my contract mid November.
  • Today I called Sky as I just discovered my 92-year-old mother has been paying a ridiculous £68.00 per month for her package (much of which she doesn't use). After five minutes on the phone with a very nice customer service rep, she lowered the monthly cost to £36.00. It was almost the same package other than kids stations and HD. Pretty amazing, and makes me wonder why the regular charges are so high if they can drop them so fast.
  • My SKY package just went up as end of contract from £38 to £54 so tried to negotiate my SKY deal down yesterday on chat and the agent offered me £32 pm - told them I had a firm budget of £30pm max so told them to cancel. They sent me random emails (all incorrect) so rang their cancellations department this morning to check what was going on and they confirmed the cancellation was going ahead - I explained why I was leaving and the guy said he's go and check what they could do....came back to me with a deal of £38!! I told him I was offered £32 yesterday, why would I want to pay more and he said that was the best he could do and if I wanted to cancel my cancellation I could call back any time before the end date - I told him the ball was in their court if they wanted to retain my business (11 years/6months) but highly suspect they are not offering people deals to stay, so will be voting with my feet / going elsewhere.

I am not very good at haggling. But my current sky bill was for £144 per month after my old £110 discounted contract ended. So I rang sky and they offered to drop the price from £144 to £102 but that included giving up sky cinema.  I then did what was suggested here and went to sky chat. It took longer 5-10 minutes between replies but I now have the same package as before including sky cinema and faster broadband for £87.50. I would highly recommend people contacting sky to reduce their bills it wasn’t as difficult as I thought. I just said I was considering leaving and had seen a competitor was offering faster broadband for less per month then they were charging. The rest the sky rep did.

For what it’s worth my new contract has sky signatures as £30 full price which was discounted to £15 per month. I hope that helps
