My sky bill has just shot up from £35 a month to £86 a month. I need to either get another discount or cancel but am stuck in a never ended loop of help pages on the sky website trying to find the online chat option. Could anyone help with a direct link to the correct page?0

Hi, just want to say a big thank you as I would never have thought about haggling before. As a loyal Sky customer for over 11 years I felt sick every month when the direct debit of £108.49 (Tv, broadband, landline, no sky sports) was taken out of my bank. Also annoys me when I see new customers with much better deals than I get! I rang Sky today and told them to cancel my subscription as I simply couldn’t afford it anymore. I explained that if I were a new customer I would have everything my subscription has now PLUS Sky Q, Netflix, a faster broadband speed and no line rental, for the much more appealing £65 pm.I was on the phone for quite a while with a very friendly chap who eventually was able to price match! So a saving of £43.49 per month and a total saving of £521.88 per year!! Plus another £8.99pm, £107.88 per year if I cancel my Netflix subscription! So potentially saving a massive £629.76!!! I wasn’t prepared to pay £199 for Sky Q but am now getting it for no extra cost! Well chuffed! Also having taken note of Martins guidance, every year I check house/car insurance, pet insurance, utility bills and go with the one offering the best deal. It really doesn’t pay to stay loyal to one company and both my house and car insurance has been halved this year! I even haggled with my Moms BT phone/broadband and got her a much better package with a saving of over £120 per year! Wish I’d rang Sky sooner!! Thanks again. This is a great informative site 😊3

Been away from sky for over 2 years and looking for fast fibre anytime broadband, sky q box multi room and all TV channels no sport or movies needed. Confused by trying to pick packages (not the brightest obviously) what are the best prices i should aim for, currently with virgin on basic TV package and 100 fibre but price jum.ped from £25.00 to £59.00
Any help appreciated0 -
Just renewed my contract with sky having reduced to basic package when my last deal came to an end. New package is free sky Q and sky Q mini , sky signature, movies & sport & kids plus multi room for £54pm. Great deal I think considering I was paying £40 or so for basic .0

Hi All,
Our current 18 month deal with Sky is coming to an end on 19 Sept, we've been Sky customers for 5 years now. Current deal is:
£18 line rental and free BB
£5 HD
£4 Sky kids
£16 Sky Entertainment
Total: £43.05
Been on the phone to Sky tonight for over 40min and the best they can offer is:
£25 line rental and Superfast BB
£4 HD
£25 Sky Signature
Total: £54
That is £11 more than we are currently paying for less. We haggled hard but they won't budge. I think this is quite expensive, especially when there are much better deals being offered to new customers.
Do you think we should ask to leave and see I'd a better offer is forthcoming, has anybody had any luck with this recently? So fed up with this....0 -

DON'T cancel the phone plus broadband - look for other similar deals from other ISPs, then if Sky don't offer better than £25 ,you can start a move to a lower priced deal elsewhere , letting the new company control the process and tell Sky that you are leaving.0 -
Just been on a call with Sky retentions re staying with Sky or not so I thought I'd provide some feedback to the forum.Previously I was on a discounted package with Sky for their Entertainment (SD) and Cinema (HD) packs for £25 pcm that was increased to £48 pcm from start of September following the end of my discounted 18 months. When I called Sky at beginning of September about the increase the best they could do was £37 pcm which led me to ask them to cancel my contract.I've just been called by Retentions and negotiated to stay with Sky at 18 months £25 pcm for their Signature pack and Cinema pack plus HD on each with a one off £10 admin fee. I'd imagine I might have been able to get something better but this felt fair so I accepted their offer.
