  • I might just see if we actually miss SKY.
If we don't I won't be calling them again. They didn't seem very bothered about losing my 20 year custom.

Just to say my contract was due to end and I was paying £89 per month.  I used the chat service to haggle and got them to £61.50.  The key thing was I logged into Sky as a new user and saw what the package I was on would cost if I was not an existing customer.  It was £64.  So I was in a position of strength to say that I could leave in 8 days and just join up again.  As the article linked to this says, know the market.  Good luck  to all.
  • I may be naive and old school, but they should be contacting me to try and keep my custom, not me taking the time and effort to contact them. All big service providers are the same, Direct Line, RAC, BT. They think/know it's too much hassle to shop around and sort out the cancellations, direct debits etc. I have plenty of choice with Netflix, Samsung TV, YouTube, Freeview, Amazon Prime.
    The customer WAS always right.

sadly with outsourcing and increasing overheads, they cannot mircomanage their customer retentions. It's in their interest you do not haggle so you stay on a more expensive cost, just like insurance

Sky+HD (in 2 rooms) contract ran out 3w ago. I had already cancelled renewal so system had already switched off. I usually subscribe to entertainment package + cinema + sports + kids +HD +multiroom. I was interested in exploring SkyQ options as well as renewing the existing old boxes.

    I was offered the following

Renew Sky+`HD box in 2 rooms. Sky HD Signature, Sports, Cinema, Multiroom HD. £49ppm for 18 months. Note I have removed kids as no longer need it.

Alternative was SkyQ. 2 rooms. Same package (signature/cinema/sports/HD/multiroom) 1TB box, 10£ activation fee, free setup £52.50ppm for 18 months. 2tb box was £25 set up fee only

Alternative was same package with UHD and 2tb box, increased by 50p to £53ppm.

Adding Netflix increased it by £4. Given I was already paying Netflix £8.99 for standard HD, however with sky UHD its £4 extra for the UHD Netflix service.

In the end I went for skyQ+ full package + Netflix. £57ppm for 18 months.

Our Sky services terminated about 6 weeks ago, wasn’t offered anything during the notice
period and nothing appeared in ‘my deals’.  Since disconnection had a few missed calls from Sky, emails and mail shots offering various pretty good deals.
They rang me again yesterday and I happily accepted the following.
    Sky signature with HD
    Sky sports with HD
Sky Q box with free installation
18month contract £25 per month and £50 account credit.

I would probably be tempted by that deal, but nothing more than £25 per month. Then the fun starts again in 18 months......but yes worth a look, IF they contact me.

    Chuffed to bits.
Just got BT Sport added to our package and the total monthly bill for fibre broadband & TV reduced by £58/month.
    Happy with that.

That's extremely good offer - must be ~ 65% discount on list prices

Just got an email from SKY - £27.50 per month inc. SKY Cinema.
Need to do better I'm afraid, nothing less than the deal above.
I don't need SKY so not an issue if they can't agree to that.
