Hello I've been a sky customer for 6 years the account is in my mums name I dont have contact with her anymore but I pay for the sky account and I manage the account I'm trying to cancel the service due to it not being in my name and the deal is pretty rubbish and I want to set up a new account but sky wont help me as I'm not the account holder. It's out of the contract agreement so I should be able to cancel if I give notice?0

Or once you're logged in, see if they can transfer the account into your name and then haggle for a better deal... That should ensure you don't get a disruption in service.0 -
Hi all. I'm stuck in a Sky contract at the minute for Broadband. Is it possible to haggle for a better price if I'm stuck in a 12 month contract with 7 months left? I can't afford to cancel and pay the early cancellation fees and they would surely know that someone isn't going to pay all that money to cancel, so how/is it even possible to haggle for a better price when they've already got you by the unmentionables?
Thanks0 -
I called the SKY cancellation number this morning to see what monthly reduction I could get. Currently £63.50 a month.
The agent was very polite and friendly.
I said I now have a Smart TV so Freeview, YouTube, Amazon Prime and free Netflix via a family member.
He mentioned package deals for Fibre, telephone and TV.
I only wanted a new deal on the TV.
As the call seemed to be concluding, he still hadn't given me a reduced price.
I thought he was bluffing, but no.
I was a SKY customer for 20 years.
They have sent me the usual confirmation email and one saying if you change your mind ring this number !
I held my nerve, but no better rate was ever mentioned.
If they don't contact me again with a better deal, it shows how they value their lomg term customer base.
I will use the £63 a month on something else.
Very surprisimg and not I was expecting.

I will miss the ability to record and schedule next episodes but I can live without it.
If they should contact me I will post an update.0 -
