  • I find that with most companies, that’s why I like web chat as can just get on with my day while messaging them. You can have it open while watching TV or working on something else :)

Just had a painful 2 hour "online chat" with Sky re cancellation/renewal. First "offer" was only £7 off list, then we got into offers on Q boxes, broadband deals etc etc - no thanks! Finally got offered:-
Entertainment £15; Box sets £2; Sports £14 ;Sports HD £2; HD pack £3 -total £36pm -(no mention of admin charge!! )
I dithered for a bit and then he came back with another £3pm saving with £1 off boxsets and £2 off HD pack. So overall £33pm but with £20 admin charge . I went for that, as it was £3 less than current deal.

One thing I had forgotten about was Sky's April price rises - looking at future bills , that £3pm saving goes in extra charges for Entertainment and HD pack. But still effectively a price freeze for me. So it's over for another 18 months!  :)

I recently renewed my Sky subscription , getting a very good deal on my tv package. I was offered a new Sky Q box but didnt have a 4k Tv, and liked my Sky+ box as i could watch sky on a 2nd tv for free.
Having now bought a 4ktv,  and before I call Sky, I just wondered what kind of offers you guys have had re-sky Q package ?  Im sure they will start with the old " your already saving thousands of pounds..blah blah  😂

If you've recently negotiated a deal with Sky using your existing equipment, why would you so soon seek an "upgrade" to Sky Q?  The amount of 4K material available is currently minimal and, while the picture quality is fine, it's not the huge  difference seen between standard and high definition.
If I were you, I'd continue with your existing deal and only consider Sky Q when you are next in a position to negotiate again...

I’ve just negotiated a new deal on my TV package.I currently have a Sky HD + box.
They offered me a Sky Q Box for free. At first they wanted £30 for setting it up I said I wanted it for free. The person I was talking to on the phone spoke to a supervisor and agreed to waver this fee.
Im getting it installed next week.

Thanks Marco.  Long story but i didnt buy the tv somebody else did, else i wouldnt have bought a cheapish 50 inch, i would've bought a better 43" model.  Anyway, the sports channels are ok, but having been used to HD on a 32 inch Sony which was excellent, im noticing the pitch is quite blurred when the camera  moves.  So will watching a match in UHD improve that ?  Thanks

But what is your tv deal? The deal they offered me increased when I asked for Sky Q.

Not on your £300 50" budget TV...
  • Currently have all the channels on sky q, plus netflix and multiroom with the mini box. My 18 month deal has just came to an end
    £83 up to £115  :open_mouth:

Anyway was on live chat yesterday and he only went down to £75.  I told him to cancel, he kept trying but im not paying that much.

So currently im on the cancellation slide.

Here's hoping for a 50 or 60% off offer  :disappointed:

If not then the cheapest for new customers for what I had is £84  :#
