I was weak, I caved at 50%, a rolling monthly contract on the TV on a 12 month price contract. I did manage to get £25 cash back, they wouldn't give me £50.
I didn't take it all the way to cutoff, I don't think my household could survive life without the channels. Seeing all the hassle that's going on, I'm happy. If not a bit poorer!!!
I'd like to thank you all for the info you've got on here, it showed me how to go about everything0 -

If you're happy then that's all that counts, some people like to get a bit competitive about how much discount they get on here but you're paying just under half of what the majority of Sky's customers are paying. The rolling contract is good as well.0 -

When I first negotiated ,I set myself a target of <£5 per week equivalent (on the old SD SKY+ box) -last two years, I've upped my target to <£7.50 per week (as I now have box sets and HD Sports) - so far, I've achieved my objectives!
Come late September I'll be back on the merry go round:rotfl:but 50% plus £25 would almost achieve the target but 60% off definitely will!0 -

Can you tell me what package you are getting and at what price please?0 -
I finally managed to get the 60% off deal at the 4th attempt. The first 2 attempts, on live chat, refused to go below 40% despite having 2 e mails with the 60% offer. Third try on phone wanted me to take pics of the e mails to verify but I struggled to get a pic with the date on.
Offer supposed to end today so tried chat again last night having received a letter with the offer on, sent a photo and they agreed.
Box set, Sports and HD package for £29.20 a month. 60% off tv and 50% off the HD pack.) I enjoyed the game and although was hoping for the 75% offer caved in just in time for the football.0 -
How long were you with no sky until you got offer0
-
About a week for the first one, that was valid for a month, after it expired got another the next week which expires today. Had a couple of phone calls in between. Worth opening any e mails from Sky as one offer was almost hidden under the title Game of Thrones returns.
To be honest I was quite happy with the Humax box and free sat so wasn't overly bothered either way which helped!0 -
Have Box Sets and Movies and multiroom. My 60% deal came to an end so on 31 day notice period, services end on 18th August.
Best offer I've been able to get so far is 50% off plus £25 bill credit so £28 per month plus £12 multiroom. I've tried a few times now and each time they mention the deal I was offered by the previous person and that that was the best they can do. Can't seem to get past the fact they know what I've discussed with advisors previously.
Will wait until the TV service is switched off and see what they offer.0 -
Tried cancelling Tv online through my Sky, they offered me 10% off on an 18 month contract - said no thanks. It seems I have to wait for them to open either by cancelling via the phone or their live chat which opens at 8:45am
No way am I paying £38 a month for box sets.0 -
Don't hold your breath!
Well, I cancelled and they offered the usual 40% off online; phoned to confirm a few details of dates etc. and the guy said "you won't be taking advantage of out 50% offer then" to which I replied no.
Now the 40% off online offer has been replaced by a 10% off one!!
I guess Sky are not in the mood for haggling at the moment, so it's bye-bye Sky!
If they don't come up with an improved offer, I'll be pulling my broadband too, out of principle. Even Now TV which is owned by Sky are offering the entertainment package, BB and phone for a quid more than Sky want just for BB and phone! Suddenly, not the bargain they were! (Granted, there's a £22 set up charge)
Or, I can get up to 100mbps from Virgin for essentially the same price.
The money I save will go towards a Humax box.
Edit: Just checked and now the 10% offer has gone, too. Oh well, their loss, innit?0
