Their adverts for fibre is actually for the limited download version and it's very restrictive. There's no point in having fast download speeds with limited download caps. it's like spending £150,000 on a Ferrari but only being allowed to drive it on Tuesdays.
They rang today to see if I wanted to go ahead but I've told them I wasn't happy about 12/18 month thing etc and said to cancel instead. My package will and in 31 days so I will see if they come back with a better offer. I'm not that bothered actually about staying with them or moving to someone else, but it will be interesting to see if they do come back with a better deal.0 -
Hi Folks
I hope you're all well and was wondering if you kind folks out there would advice on the following:
My monthly charges with Sky are as follows:
Variety with Sports £47.60
Sky Talk Line Rental £18.99 - £4 (discount) = £14.99
Sky Broadband Unlimited £10
Sky Talk Anytime Extra $8
Do you think this is a good deal?
The reason why I'm asking is because I am not in a cont4ract so rang the retentions team to say I want to cancel because their charges are too high. The guy on the other line simply said 'ok' and went ahead with the 30 day notice for the cancellation.
Now I am regretting it!
Please advice.0 -

So stick with it to see what they offer you....0 -
The Broadband and Talk notice period is 14 days. From other posts, going beyond the 14 days has implications for keeping your current phone number.
If you move on, some providers require an 'active line' takeover or they can charge you for re-connecting your phone line. So if Sky have actually processed your cancellation, keep in mind the 14 day period as well as the 30 days for TV.0 -

If on a rolling monthly discount it'll be for a fixed term and they're likely to just stop the cancellation going through and leave you on the same deal. You'll still have to renegotiate when the end of the fixed term comes up.
I'm not on a minimum term, I've got 13 months to run at 50% off, no contract. I was hoping to maybe cancel, then get something better than 50% off, or an account credit in addition, don't mind a 12 month contract if I get a better deal.0 -

You may end up paying more - if you cancel a 50% deal
Sky are not stupid - they keep records and if you cancel and then apply again - they may treat you as a new customer and offer you, say 33% !!
Let us know how you get on ...........0 -
Extremely unlikely - try it and see !!

Cheers, 50% off is the most I've ever paid so it feels like a lot.
I suppose about £30 for unlimited fibre, line rental and variety pack is decent enough value though really.0 -
Cancelled my TV and Phone/Broadband to end 19th August as price increasing. Just called them for about the 5th time over last few days and at last offered:
Broadband £10
Line Rental free
Tv box sets and HD £19
Multiroom £12
Total £41 with one off £10 admin charge
Contract for 12 months.
Pleased with that as was paying £43 before they increased everything. So keep phoning them as depends who you get.0 -
... I'm not liking this '£10 admin charge' ... Its a sneaky way of saying 'really its £50 per month, but we'll let you have it for £45 a month, but £10 admin fee' ... I havent done the maths to make that add up but you get the picture0

It's only a one off £10 charge, not every month so I didn't really mind too much0
