Charles Dunstone's e-mail account is obviously been set not to receive my e-mails as they've bounced back, unless his inbox is full! Have phoned the senior manager that I dealt with recently and left a message so will chase up tomorrow if I don't get a call.0

Received the sms this morning. This is bad news for PUFL customers - I only use my sim for those numbers. Nothing to be gained by cancelling either.

I got a txt yesterday on 1 of my 3 O2 CPW lines. They haven't said anything so far on the other 2 :S
If I want to cancel after 28th because of this change will they want a notice period?0 -
hello all,
I have used this charge as an chance to cancel my contract. I only used my mobile phone to call my credit card company to make payments, and I am glad to be able to cancel early.
I know all companies will now be charging, but that doesnt bother me, I will just do internet banking instead.
Out of interest, I was part of the "old contract" people and only yesterday recieved the text informing me of charges.
Today I rang up 0870 521 4000, pressed 1 (charges) and said I wouldlike to cancel my contract. She put me through to retentions who asked if it made a difference to me, I said it does as i have just opened a new credit card and was planning to use my mobile to call to make payments. She informed me all companies will be charging, but I said I will do it by internet banking so I would like to cancel.
She gave me the address to write to and told me the important things to include were my mobile phone number, name, address and make sure I sign it.
I have copied the letter, do you think this is correct?
Thanks
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to request cancellation of my contract, mobile phone number 07xxxxxxxxx , as a result of the notice given by yourselves regarding new charges for certain phone numbers.
According to the Terms and Conditions, if there are any changes made to the charges, I am entitled to alter or cancel my contract.
I am requesting my contract to be cancelled, taking this letter as the required 30 days notice.
I therefore expect to make one last payment on or around 20th September, after which I will cancel the direct debit.
Please note this letter has been sent recorded delivery and a copy has been retained by myself.
Thank you

Can't you just ask for your PAC code to cancel the contract?0
-
Well i've not received the dreaded txt yet. Looks like they will be loosing a lot of custom. The only reason I was with o2 was for the 08 no's being included.0

To attempt get out of an O2 (CPW) contract you need to contact them, in writing (recorded delivery) is best and say.
"That they have increased charges for elements of the service you are using, and have changed the agreement to your significant disadvantage, and in view of this you wish terminate your contract without penalty." Sect 8.5.3 of their T&C covers this.
( According to their T&C if they have done this you can terminate your contract early.)
You can also point out that you understand O2 proper have recognised this, and are allowing people to cancel contracts early in the same circumstances.0 -
How would you go about requesting a pac code then?0
-
I think we should start a petition online and also see if ofcom can intervene - as this was definitely a reason why lot of us have renewed contracts with o2.
I remeber that before my o2 contract which i have had for almost 2 years (renewed in May 07), i had the orange everyday 50 which allowed o8 numbers on the inclusive minutes and i had left it for o2.
Anyone up for it?0
