Received the sms this morning. This is bad news for PUFL customers - I only use my sim for those numbers. Nothing to be gained by cancelling either.
BarGin
I use PUFFL too and also got the sms today. Surely this must be a mistake becasue we have already paid upfront for these calls for life? I only use it for 08** numbers and make a lot of international calls this way (via 3rd party servies)
Orange tried to do the same thing with people who had the 5 free text messages per day for life (they wanted to reduce it to 3). But they had to back down so lets kick up a fuss if they really intentd to do this.
Will make enquiries to see if it is a mistake or not.
If not, then assuming I live for another 54 years. They owe me:
20p x 50 mins = £10 per month
£10 x 12 months x 54 years = £6480 :cool:0 -
Hi all,
Sent an email to O2 cs on 22/8. Still do not get any reply. Wonder anyone got similar experience?0 -
If anyone is connected with O2 on the old Best for Business Tariffs I'll find out tomorrow if this tariff change is applicable.
This was a tariff that gave you X amount of Free Mins and Unlimited Off Peak Calls to any network including 0845/0870/0844 etc etc
Typically O2 Customers who connected to this tariff are on the DISE Billing system. Normal O2 Consumer Customers are connected with O2's COMPANION billing system.
I'll give you an update in the morning!0 -
Market forces are supposed to be good for customers but yet again we have been let down by these greedy companies. O2 CS asking why people are fussed over 08xx numbers being excluded from inclusive minutes are justifying their actions by saying that all networks don't include them. So instead of inproving their value O2 are downgrading because they reckon they are giving away more than any of the other networks. Well they are in for a big shock because there are a lot of people who will not bother with contracts at all if they can't use 08xx numbers and the networks will lose this money. They won't make it back from payg sims and they won't save as much money as they think they will. They really don't have much business sense and it will serve them right.0

Some people hinted a while ago that Telefonica would do this sort of thing when they bought O2.See:

I'll just be cancelling both of my contracts and moving them to T-Mobile or Three for the inclusive data deals.
Silly O2.
Cheers, Des.0 -
That is the ONLY advantage O2 have at the moment, they don't have high speed net, don't update your mins instantly, don't do video calling.
I think if they go ahead with this they will loose and enourmous amount of custom!
The ONLY reason I have an O2 contract is because of the 08 numbers, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Should we start a e-petition calling for O2 to stop this?
weird cus i've got video calling and 3g internet0
