I phoned O2 CPW now and they will not cancel. They said they havent changed the contract as national number have never been included and it doesn't matter what you have been told on sale you should have read that they are not mentioned in T&C.
so no they will not cancel even though I got my contract last yr in November.
before someone says quote the follow, I did, and he said no you can't!
"That they have increased charges for elements of the service you are using, and have changed the agreement to your significant disadvantage, and in view of this you wish terminate your contract without penalty." Sect 8.5.3 of their T&C covers this.0 -

If non-geographic numbers were included in your free minutes (you'll have to check your bills) then you are entitled to cancel as they have altered the parameters of your tariff. If you were paying for them already then it doesn't affect you.0 -
Could everyone be kind enough to state which tariff they are on if they have received a text or letter regarding the charges please? Thanks.
I'm on Leisure time plus & no text yet.0 -
CPW (apparently) going to call me back by the end of the day. What are my chances of cancelling and getting my cashback up to date. Should receive the bill I need in order to claim in 3 weeks, hopefully if I cancel now I should still get the bill as the cancellation will happen after 30 days and I will still be able to claim my cashback for the period I have used. Not trying to get more than I've used but don't want to cancel unless I know I am going to get the cashback as it'd cost me money otherwise!0

I'm on O2 25 (25 mins, 25 texts, £16/month), and had the text yesterday, with just over a month left on my contract, and have just been told by a partiucularly beligerent bloke at O2 that "because you don't use 0845 numbers, you can't cancel, because your charges haven't changed". I can either wait until the end of my contract, or pay the termination fee of the remaining line rental (OK, only £16, but that's not the point, is it?)
I'm about to call them again, hoping that I'm going to get a more useful person, otherwise it's off to OFCOM I go :mad:0 -

Did he mean you don't call 0845 numbers or you don't have O845 numbers within your free minutes?0 -

no but thats the whole point I have never paid for them Im rechecking but I can see 0845 numbers last month I dialed and they came out of my inclusive mins.
my tariff is O2 400 Q3
All they keep saying is that it was like an extra service never written into your contract which they now decided to take away.0 -
He meant because I don't call 0845 numbers. Apparently it's what they've been told by management - when somebody calls asking to be cancelled under this, they have to physically look at the account to see if the person actually uses 08 numbers or not.
He tried to tell me that because I didn't use them, my charges wouldn't change. He didn't get it when I said "if my charges aren't changing, you're telling me that 08 numbers will still be inclusive".
That's got me properly riled now.0 -

This is the trouble, you get a different story from each agent. I had no complaint regarding cancelling my contract or that I would be charged. I am, like you though, entitled to cancel given the changes to the tariff from the one I signed. What you've been told is a load of tosh.0
