Did you get the text before you rang? And how difficult was it (did they try to deny that you could cancel)?0 -
Lol... I've just phoned Customer Services again to double check what I wrote on a previous post and the advisor has said that 0845/0870/0844 etc etc numbers will still be included in the inclusive mins to customers who are connected to one of O2's old Best for Business Tariffs...
The advisor even phoned the Business Help Desk who also confirmed that this change will not be applicable to old O2 Best for Business Tariffs!!!! agggh!!
Going to leave it for another 10 mins or so then phone back and see what i get told.
Will keep you posted!0 -
Just called up agan and another advisor read out the communication they had received from O2 Management about this change and it appears that only certain customers are going to be effected and those who are should receive a letter or text message giving them 30 days notice of the change. The letters and texts started to get sent on 20/8/07
If you don't receive a letter or text then you are not effected.... What a nightmare!!0 -
I emailed O2 to say I wanted to cancel due to the pending charges for non-geographic calls. They replied within 48 hours saying they would do within 30 days.
I then called and said I want to keep my number, having had it for many years before I joined O2. Their reply?
That will be £100 please.
This is unbelievable. They go and change the terms of my tariff and have the cheek to charge me for keeping MY NUMBER.
Anyone got any suggestions?

i just called 0870 521 4000, option 2, then option 2 and spoke to a bloke and said I am in the process of cancelling my contract and would like to request the PAC code.
He asked me for my mobile phone number, name, and address and then said that it would be through in the next 6 working days through the post.
I will see if it does or not, but I see not reason why it shouldn't.
I hope it does, I've got 500 contact cards printed with the number on it!!embarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0 -
I've just called OFCOM and explained that O2 have breached the T & C's of my contract and were happy to cancel without fuss but that they want to charge for me retaining my number.
The report will go to O2's executive office and they 5 working days to deal with the request.
If anyone is having the same difficulties go to:
www.ofcom.org.uk
or call - 020 7981 3040 between 09:00 and 17:30
If you are deaf or speech-imparied, the textphone number is 020 7981 3043
Welsh speakers can call 020 7981 3042.
Fax number is 020 7981 3334.
Good luck0 -
