ususaly it happens on 1 week after your request.
so speak to your service provider around 15th and say confirm this with them.
and if it is 1 week call them on 20th and req them to transfer the number.
your number will be transfered on 27th.
If I were u i will get it done couple of days before rather later.
you can never be sure about technical issues occur onb that day can u?reddwarf2002 wrote: »This is slightly off-topic but I'm sure many of the people on this thread will know or find it useful.
Does anyone know if it is possible to specify a date on which PAC transfer takes place? For example if I got the PAC code from O2 and wanted to transfer my number on exactly the 28th September would this be possible or can you not specify a future date?0 -

That's what I thought, thanks! I didn't want to miss out on the NGN calls by terminating early but then if I terminate too late then my PAC code expires on the 29th! Dilemma LOL0 -
hi,
I was told by O2 CPW on friday 31st August that my Pac would be with me within 72 hrs it never came. I phoned up on Thursday 6th Sept and was told as that many people were cancelling that I should allow until 11th Sept - alas it still has not arrived.
I was wondering how long everyone elses was taking to arrive?0 -
ongoing problem with o2:
Called back in auguest when this thread was first opened, and said can i can cel as your are taking the 0845 numbers away from my free inclusive calls and this will affect me.
The person who i spoke to said that i was unable to cancel my contract because i only upgraded in julu and those calls were not included in the contract that i signed up to.
I have not recieved a copy of the updated terms and conditions and was not told about the changs to inclusive calls when i swapped over to my current tarrif, if i had have been told i would have stayed on my previous one.
She looked at my bill and said that they had been coming out of my inclusive min's even tho they shouldn't have been and corrected it. (shot myself in the foot slightly by calling up i know)
She then said is there anything else i can help you with so i said no and then we ended the call.
I called back a week later and explained it all again, the person said that they were sorry for this change but i should have been told at the time of changing contract that thses were no longer included, and she asked if i had recieved the terms and conditions so i said no, she said it was strange and might have been lost in the post so would send out a new copy.
She then said that becuause of this she would take £10 off of my line rental each month and then i said that was good so i accepted and she said that she would activate it once we had finished the call.
I went back to work as i had called on my lunch break and i recieved a call about 5 min's later from her saying that she was unable to activate it onto my account until the 28th of september and would put full notes onto the account and to phone back then and it would be done.
I called today after reading lots of people had been offered a discount and to ask why it coulnd't have been done on my account also, the person that i spoke to said that they were unable to offer any discount to my tarrif and went to speak to a manager. I then explained that i had not recieved the updated terms and conditions in the last month and had i have known that they were no longer going to be included i would have not signed up to a new 18 month contract.
She said she was sorry that i had not recieved the terms and conditions earlier, i asked her why they didn;t mention it on the phone when i upgraded that i would be loosing this as part of my tarrif, she said that they only mention the main features of the tarrifs and the rest is in the terms and conditions which you recieve in the post.
She said that there was nothing that i can do and they i would be charged £650 if i canceled my contract.
Any advice from anyone on who to contact? Sorry for a very long message.Comping Challenge Make internet back in 2007

hi i need help!
On july the 1st i upgraded my "discount 500" tariff and got a new phone etc.
I rang back in August to buy a data bolt on but was told that on the discount 500 tariff no data bolt ons was compatible so they moved me onto the "online 35 tariff"
I did not really think much of until i got the dreaded text message.
I then called o2 and they have basically said that because i changed to the "online 35 tariff" then i was getting charged for the 0845 etc numbers anyway so in that case they wont let me cancel my contract??
Does anyone know if this is the case?
p.s when they moved me onto the online 35 tariff no one mentioned that the 0845 etc numbers will now not be included!0 -

Yh! call back and kick their a**!!
On a serious basis:
There are a few important things to pay attention to.
Even though you changed tariff at upgrade, the NGN were coming out of yr inclusive minutes, up until the day that biatch changed it.
As far as I am concerned, this means the numbers were free. And thats how you 'believed' it was. (And if she really changed it, you can deny any knowledge of it-sod them!)
They can apply a credit to your account at any point in time. I have called today in regards to a mistake on my bill and the lad said he will be doing it straight away. This is something I have done in the past as well.
Why did she say 28th of Spt? Is it when yr billing cycle ends/starts?
The manager said that they only mention the main parts of the T&C. And as (i presume) you regularly made calls to these numbers, the exclusion of NGN is a major point for you. O2 failed to inform you of such a change.
Furthermore, seen as they were unable to provide you the new contract within the cooling off period they put u at an immediate disadvantage.
I suggest you write a very damning letter pointing out the failure of O2 CS to inform you of a change that would have put you at a major disadvantage. Ask whether they will offer you a better deal (please read previous post abt the trap of the 'simplicity tariff') or else to process a cancellation/pac. Make sure you mention that you would like to be called back to discuss possible solution to this problem.
If they don't play ball with you, inform them at the time of the call back that you will be going to trading standards as O2 were at fault on various occurences which they are unwilling to rectify.
Also keep us informed.
Seen as you are in quite a mess, I suggest you deal with them firmly but nicely. Let them know that you know your rights and would not be taking no for an answer.
remember to send recorded post.
Good luck.0 -

See my previous post in regards to O2 failing to inform customers of changes to their T&C which put the consumer at a disadvantage.
You will have to go along pretty much the same line.
Writing a well presented, firm and accurate letter is a good way of getting things done.0 -
this thread is leading into a total different direction from the original one (about 0844, 0870, 0845 numbers). O2 website clearly says these numbers will not be included in the O2 bundle minutes from the 28-sept-07....
i took out a contract which has 1100 mins anytime any network, coz i use these 0844, 0845 & 0870 numbers to speak to my family abroad but tough...it wont happen from the 28-sept-07....0 -
Hi All,
I had upgraded my O2 contract in July 2007. I was offered a retention tariff of 500x-min for 25£ and it included 08 numbers. Now as you all know I too got the text about the change in 08 number charges. I called up O2 to enquire about it. They said I am eligible to cancel or take their offer of 200x-min for 15£.
I did not dare ask them, but has anyone of you are in the same boat as mine. Should I have to return the mobile phone as I had upgraded only in July 2007.
Thanks in advance for all your valuable replies. This will help me in negotiating with the O2 cust team.

not sure if anyone has seen this yet but o2 are going to begin to charge for somethng else also
- From 1 January 2008, video calls will be excluded from the monthly allowance and charged 50p per minute. Video call charges start when the recipient accepts the call, even if the video call subsequently fails, therefore a failed call may be subject to a minimum charge. Video calling is handset and network dependant. Use of 3G is subject to 3G coverage.
