  • Just received an email from O2 disconnections. They issued me my PAC, and said I can cancel without penalty.

Only problem is I need to e-mail them again after the contract is disconnected so that they can adjust the termination fee...oh well, at least a free phone!

Which address did you send your letter to? Was is the Disconnection Manager one? And did they call you today stating they would give you your PAC code due to the letter you sent yesterday?

Yes it was to disconenction manager. Not sure it was because of the letter I got the pac or email. I assume it's the letter, in Email they refuse to budge. But every time I did send them email I asked them to phone me so we can discuss the matter.

The phone call did say it was O2. Did not say cpw.. so not sure.. suppose I can search the number it was from 0800 9555544.

    hi

has anyone negotiated a discount on the remaining part of the contract or a lump sum instead of walking away with a pac?

ive only got a 4 months left from an 18 month contract and hoping to get a juicy retention deal when the contract is due for renewal so hence why im not sure i want to walk away

    cheers

Finally managed to talk to someone, I told him I don't want to renew my contract when it expires next week. I said that the main reason is because of the premium charges to NGN, at that point he stated that O2 were the only network not to charge for those, and all the competitors already charge for calling these numbers. He offered me the Simplicity tariff of £15 a month, 1500 minutes off peak. I currently pay £10 a month for 300 off peak minutes + 500 text, so I told him that there is no point in me moving to a more expensive tariff and to have all those minutes I wouldn't be able to use up anyway.
He finally gave up and stated that I will receive the PAC code within the next 48 hours and I'll have to use it within 30 days otherwise it expires.
He also said that no letter is required.
    Will see what happens next.

I'm with O2 direct and spoke to a guy in the retentions team, he gave me two options

    1) O2 would give me a £15 credit to compensate for the new charges I would incur

    or

    2) I could cancel my contract without penalty.

I went for option 2 and requested my PAC and much to my surprise there was no need for writing letters etc, once i ported my number over to new network, they will cancel my contract without penalty.
    Very straight forward!!!

I have only been with O2 for a couple of months but have had nothing but problems with my monthly bills so I for one am happy with this change to T&C's.

    Bye Bye O2!!!

CPW seem to be taking a very hard line. I haven't received the text, but my wife has. I called them yesterday and they told me the charges apply to everyone who has an O2 contract with them. They basically said tough and I couldn't cancel without incurring the charge for the remaining 12 months of my contract.

I am going to write to complain because it is a big change in the terms and conditions but tbh dont expect anything.
Hark at you going all strict :D

Don't take No for a answer. I just upgraded to 18 months contract, O2 CPW were saying no, I have to pay for full 18 months to buy out, I kept on fighting finally I got a phone call yesterday saying they will issue PAC code within 48/72 hours and can leave without any penalties. Can anyone offer any advice to those of us who have still not received 'THE TEXT'?

Do we just wait and hope we wont be affected until our current contract expires?

    I'm on a discounted tariff of 200mins 500 texts for £15.
