Thats all very well but a large amount of O2 users used the facility to call overseas via 0844/0870 gateway numbers,and the Say No To 0870 site does not supply alternative numbers for them.

I politely pointed out that there t + c's dont state that if you dont use your not covered. Its simple, as stated before if when you signed these numbers were included and now there not you can cancel.

Spoke to a Line Manager who was obv. fed up of these calls and told me to do the following:

Write to:

o2 Disconnections
Po Box 242
Houghton Regis
RU5 5WA

State in the letter your

Full Name
Address
Mobile Number
Reason of cancellation
And most importantly sign the letter at the end

If you exersise clause 8.4c then within 30 days (your notice period) youll be free of your contract and have your PAC code.

I used to work for o2 (see previous posts) and my feeling is more and more people will have to go down this route as CS wont want an avalanche of disconnections inside this calendar month and as such will stop automaticly doing so on the phone. Giving them some breathing room and testing who can be bothered to go down the letter route hopefully buying some apathy !

Hope this helps anyone else and will save some fruitless calls and waiting in queues.

Theres something dodgy going on as O2 CS seem to be giving out different postcodes for disconnection notices. On my first call the lady gave "OU5 5WA", and i asked her to confirm it was "O" for "orange", and she said yes. I called again to double check a little while later and the postcode was "LU5 5WA".

Just rang CPW O2 again, and this time got put through to a special unit and the lady there check my phone usage and confirmed that I used 08** numbers a lot. She has put in a request for my cancellation. Strange though, there is no need for me to send in a cancellation letter, all she said was I will get a call back in two weeks time? Dont know how much I should believe her.

Don't believe a word she said.


It even states in the T&C's that you need to write in a written notice.

Hi, I upgraded my o2 contract on the 6th May, think i rang up before that though to upgrade the phone, alot of threads on here say its for customers before the end of april but i had my text today. I dont know if i get the numbers free because i havent rang any since upgrading. I am with CPW. what is the best option for me to cancel......Should i ring or write. i would love a new phone

If you are o2cpw costomer and want to cancelled your contarct remeber following points, as I have successfully cancelled my contract 6/18 months and asked them PAc no.

O2CPW
1) Remind them term and condition 11.5.3
2) Tell them virgin mobile stil including 07744 and 07755 nos and you like to have PAC ( if you donot want to go virgin that is fine) as this contarct do not suite as per your need.
3) Do not forget to write to them as well by recorded post ( as per as contract term and conditions)
They will say many things to keep you, such as virgin media website is not updated etc. but insist for PAC code or you loose your number. Tell them virgin website is uptodate.
eg: www.yourcallworld.com
