Yes that's what the lady said they are going to look at each case and see if it has put us in significiant disadvantage, she said someone will call within 2 weeks. I don't want to wait that long so will send a letter today, asking for a PAC code, I have already asked for a PAC code through email.

They will say I don't use too many 0845 numbers, I use it occasionally, but will argue with them, might say if it's not significiant disadvantage then why charge for it :)

But O2 at the CPW have already agreed with people that have been placed at significant financial advantage, they can cancel.;)

Just off the phone with CPW CS, basically they now telling me to write a letter to

    Disconnection
    CarphoneWarehouse
    Portal Way
    London
    W3 6RS

to state my intention to cancel and they will confirm the cancellation with a calculated amount of money that I owe them!

Still insisting that I am tie in to a contract and I have to pay the remaining.

    Anyone received similar info?

You obviously missed the other O2 thread currently with 221 posts?

Just got this from O2 CPW. I have replayed back stating that I will only stay if they pay for 0844 and 0845 numbers. They are the one that changing the T&C. I said I will be taking this matter with OFCOM. See what respond I get.

    Dear Mr ****,

    Thank you for your email.

I am very sorry that you have a concern about the proposed new charges
which come into effect from 29th September.

O2 are bringing in these charges to come into line with the other
networks who already charge for these calls.

I have checked your call usage over the past 3 months and the number of

calls to 0844 and 0845 numbers represents only a small percentage of
    the
total number of calls. As such, you will not be significantly
disadvantaged by the proposed changes and we cannot consider a
cancellation of your contract at this time without payment of the
remaining line rental due until the end of the 18 month contract.

I trust this is fully resolved for you. If there's anything else we can

do to help you please reply to this email.

    Regards

Is there no way you can ring o2 direct and get your PAC? I requested mine yesterday & got it via text about 5 mins ago (im not through CPW though). I suspect its a ploy by CPW to try and keep as many customers as they can. At the end of the day o2 have changed the terms that you agreed to when signing up, wether or not you use 0844/0870 @ the moment is irrelevant. You may want to start using them after 28th Sept but before the end of your agreed term.

My contract is with CPW O2. So can only go through them as far as I know.

    O2 CPW SUBSIDES

I just gave a call to CPW O2 and after 5 minutes of talking all type of terms and conditions they agreed to pass my call to the disconnections management team. There I had a chat with a lady called Don or Dawn may be.Liverpool accent. She told me that after seeing my calling records they have agreed to disconnect my line.It will be disconnected within next 30 days and I ll get my PAC Code within next 20 days. The lady was very nice and she even said that it was a shame O2 doing this. But the main thing she told me is that this was being done because the other players have cited O2 taking unfair competitive advantage by giving these numbers for free.SO IT WAS NOT O2s decision but it was fuelled by complaints from other players.

I was given a BT Cellnet "Call charges explained" leaflet which I still have. I'm on the All time 50 tariff. The leaflet doesn't specifically mention PUFL but I was told that call charges would be the same as All time 75 in the leaflet.
Perhaps you could scan the leaflet and upload somewhere for those affected. I also have this: btupfront.htm

Unfair advantage my arris. Its yet another !!!! and bull story from O2 trying to defend their decision to justify charging for calls to ngn.

If another mobile network wanted to include them in inclusive minutes they could but they choosed not to.Orange after all use to include 0800.

The real truth is that their new Lords and Master,s Telefonica Spain are putting the squeeze on them, and they came up with this idea of making more revenue.. Resulting in them losing a unique selling point, and lots of customers.
