Just to give u other option cause I called up O2 today to see my option (to make sure the text was geniue.) Instead of cancelling you can have 600 anytime minutes + 1000 SMS £25, 800 anytime minutes + 1000 sms £30 and 1200 anytime minutes + 1000 sms £35 a month (if offline can have the same but with 500 sms). But instead of having long weekend as the benefit you can have "FREE UNLIMITED CALLS TO ANY O2 Numbers." This is call Simpility plan and is a rolling 30 day contract so if not suitable can change / cancel. That is other option.
  • Please tell me CAN I CANCEL-I have CPW 02 600 Min and 100 text.I have used NGN for last 8 months at more than 95 percent rate.I only call NGN Numbers with my O2 Phone. What should I do.I got the text today.Shall I call them up or directly mail them for cancellation.

The president has been set with regard to "significant" me thinks :)

The link posted above will have you covered as its a hybrid contract that covers those before etc.

Ive tried the emailaddress at the top of this page and its bouncing straight back, along with the 242 being removed, so think theyve pulled the plug on that too.

Luckily im registered with account manager online

    http://www.accountmanagement.o2.co.uk/

Anyone else who is, I suggest you login and contact via the help section to do it :)

The email address is disconnections242@o2.com remember it is o2 not zero2 and it is .com not .co.uk. I did it earlier this evening and have had a confirmation email back from that address.
  • Hey all, i'm new here and wondering can I do anything with my upgrade O2 contract now. Could you please help me on it?

The only reason I sign contract on O2 is because the 08 number. Now we don't have them for free anymore. There is no point for me to continue...I have upgraded my CPW O2 contract on the 9th of Aug 2007, and the tariff has changed. It's 40 pounds per month, 600 mins and 500 txt. I have just received the txt msg saying they will charge us from 28 Sept 2007 for dialing 08 numbers. Do you think i can still cancel my contract without any penalty now regarding to the change or T&C???

    Many many thanks!!!!!!!!!

I havent received the text yet, but in the last 1+ month of my contract so I was going to look around anyway. What would be the situation if I called up C/S and went for a handset upgrade for another 18 mth contract, but then cancelled within 30 days of receiving the inevitable text? Would I have to return the handset or would the upgrade mean acceptance of any revised T&Cs - do the current T&C's have the same provisions in them?

Contracts starting from after late April didn't include these numbers anyway. Some people may have been able to renew on old tariffs then, but I'd guess this is very unlikely now.

In other words, it's very unlikely you'd be offered a contract with these calls included to begin with, you won't receive the message, and won't have any reason to object.

To everyone: in theory, people at O2 have strategically evaluated all this and taken a big gamble on the number of people who will cancel because of this; ultimately it could be as many as half or two-thirds of their customers, so they need to be confident they have other tariffs to retain people - is their new Simplicity tariff good enough to do it?.

I complained about a paid upfront for life contract that included these numbers; there is no point in me cancelling as it will still be free if I don't exceed the minutes on the calls still included. A manager at CS said to me today that their department can't do any more on this; I should write in and make my complaint known.

The more fuss they get, the more chance there is that an internal review will look at this all again - perhaps too late to have any effect, but who knows?

Just been told to write in to cancel - do we still need to give them 30 days notice?
When I phoned customer services as a dial-a-phone contract customer 9/18 months in ther ased me when I wnated to end the contract ie today or up to 30 days. Your contract ends when you use you PAC or the 30 days.
It was easy to phen them and ask as they know all about this.

In addition, to those that have been told they have not used o870/0845 etc, it doesn't matter. the rates have changed and therefore your contract t&c's has changed and you are still entitled to cancel it.

Tell them this and you will be fine.

Does anyone have the terms and conditions for the Pay Upfron for Life tarriff please? Seeing as we have paid upfront then perhaps we can get compensation?
I was given a BT Cellnet "Call charges explained" leaflet which I still have. I'm on the All time 50 tariff. The leaflet doesn't specifically mention PUFL but I was told that call charges would be the same as All time 75 in the leaflet.

It says inclusive minutes include: "UK fixed-line numbers (including 0800, 08457 and 08705 numbers).

For the last few years I have used the phone almost exclusively to call 0870 and 0845 numbers.
