I still had nearly 6 months left out of an 18 month contract on the O2 200 offline tariff with double mins for the duration of the contract, 100 texts with 100 loyalty texts and free ITS. They also credited me £270 when I upgraded making the 18 months line rental (30 a month) half price.

I rang up the other day to cancel and the O2 rep did so straight away. I ended up on the Simplicity deal for £20 a month with 400 mins and 500 texts, keeping my number.

I rejoined My Europe straight away too and I keep my O2 treat (currently 1.5MB of Data).

    I am well chuffed!

Just spoke to a nice guy at o2 and asked for my PAC (giving the change in t&c's as a reason) and he said no probs and advised that I will have my PAC code in the next 48 hours by txt and 5 working days by post :)

Sorry for this question, but I can't find a definative answer in the thread, so I hope someone can provide one!
I got a CPW contract in January, they guy told me then that 0870's were NOT included, but didn't mention 084's... Now, because of this, I've not used 084 or 087 numbers, until yesterday that is...:)
Now then, will I be able to cancel? AIUI, according to the T+C's, I can, as regardless of whether or not, I HAVE used them, I was about too... honest... and now, in contradiction of my contract, I can't...

Any idea how I'll stand, or how to go about cancelling? Will they make me an offer to stay?

    Thanks for any help!

EDIT: I found this on the CPW T+C's...
11.5.3 if you are a Consumer Customer we increase Charges calls, messages or data that form part of your inclusive allowance or your Line Rental Charges or change this Agreement to your significant
disadvantage, provided you give us a minimum of 30 days written notice (and provided you notify us within one month of our telling you about the changes). This does not apply where the
increase or change relates solely to Additional Services in which case you may cancel, or stop using, that Additional Service.
Now, I know they will pull the line about not being disadvantaged because I've not used them, but surely if I intend to use them, I'm being disadvantaged?

Just got text message, phoned o2 cpw, was told can't cancel, I asked for name, refused to give his surname. I said I will write to OFCOM and also give me address to write to CPW, He give me address for CPW then said I could talk to disconnection team.

I told him to put me through, which he did, spoke to a lady, she said that they have a special team working on this and someone will judge to see if I meet the criteria to cancel and will get a phone call within 2 weeks.

I think I will put it in writing also.

I just upgraded to 18 month contract with N95 so will leave :) get a pac.

Can anyone clarify what CPW's hold over 02 customers is, is it total?

I had 02 contract since Cellnet days and bought a phone from e2save( CPW) on 02 and was suprised that the billing was from CPW not 02.

Surely they have an obligation to follow 02 on the cancellations as CPW terms are an exact copy of 02 terms. i.e. 8:5:c is word for word 11:5:3:confused:

  • I have an O2 CPW 18 month contract that I started in January this year. I only use one 0870 number and that is to ring O2. I received the text on the 24/8 saying they would be charging for the said numbers. Would I still have a right to cancel my contract?

Also I have £150 chequeback oweing me that I just found out. I need to send in my 6th, 12th and 18th bill. I doubt I will get the 12th and 18th chequebacks off them but will I still be able to get the one oweing me if I cancel before I send the bill in?

    Thanks in advance
