Can anybody help? I received my new phone with the £0.99 / month O2 cashback offer from the OSPS a week ago. The sheet “Your offer explained” states and I quote exactly, including spelling – Bills sent to Car’ Warhouse 6th 8th 10th & 12th Bills to send. The cashback claim form enclosed gives the address OneStopPhoneShop Cashback Claims, PO Box 8840, Loughborough, LE11 9EL. As I have already received my first bill from O2 dated 4th March 2008, by my reckoning the 6th bill will arrive around the 4th August and this is the first one to send to the OSPS.
Now my confusion, when I look at mycashbackclaim.co.uk, I am told to send in the first claim between 3rd September and 3rd October by which time bill 6 (dated around 4th August will be over 30 days old) or I can send in bill 7 which will be dated around 4th September. Also the cashback form I can download (link from mycashbackclaim.co.uk) gives the address: Cashback Claims, PO BOX 462, Crewe, CW1 9DY. Or if I want a third address the one given on the OSPS web site gives: Cashback Claims, OneStopPhoneShop, PO BOX 337, Crewe, CW2 8WE.
My inclination is to send in my bill which should be dated 4th August 2008 to Loughborough (i.e. follow the rules that came with the phone), but I would appreciate any comments as my email, asking for clarification, to the OSPS has not been replied to.

Hi guys,
I received my bill today - the one 120 days after my contract started - so this is the one I am going to send in.
As I go over the t&c one last time before sending the relevant documentation in, I find myself umming and aahhing yet again over one final detail -
"When making the first instalment claim at 120 days, with a PORTED number, we need in addition to the standard requirements above, a copy of the first bill showing the original number we supplied to you".
As far as I'm concerned "a copy of" is ambiguous and could mean either a photocopy of the original or the original itself. Sneaky!
biddwiser, can u pls post whether or not you are successful in claiming. i hope you do. My bill havent arrive yet and I am afraid now. its been a week since the window open and i havent receive any bill. I will post whether i do get the cashback or not. hopefully we do get biddwiser. looking forward to hear from you.0 -
brainbox_2k:- I give up! If you don't understand WHAT you're signing up to before you sign DON'T. For the millionth time; avoid cashback deals unless you REALLY know what you're doing. And also for the millionth time; much of what they instruct you to do is not just misleading but WRONG. READ the t&c YOU signed up to and follow THOSE. ALSO read ALL the threads on this company; there are many on it - it IS E2Save. All the answers are on those if you care to spend your time searching. You are already making some basic mistakes that have been made for YEARS. READ THE THREADS.0

Yes mate, of course I will.0 -
Hi,
I recently got a letter stating my cashback claim had been rejected because I had included my first bill instead of my current bill in the claim.
In fact I included both bills as they requested and have a photocopy of everything i sent (the top page of bill 1 and the top bill of bill 5).
Can anyone advise what my next course of action should be? I know if everyone got paid back from these deals the company would make a loss, and therefore they are trying to catch people out in anyway possible. But in this case I have followed their instructions word for word!
My claim period expires in 12 days.
Thanks in advance.0 -
Speak to OSPS customer service about the copies of bills you have (there should be a geographical access number to call their customer service on https://www.saynoto0870.com). Ask them to double check your claim. send another copy of the required bill by recorded delivery. talk nicely. if it doesn't work, then it will have to be small claims court. tell them that in the end if they are not listening.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
I wouldn't bother. Read all the E2Save threads and OSPS ones. It's complicated and the real reason for rejection may well be different AND illegal. However, it could also be that you haven't followed the right t&c for a price match deal. Either way you will get a load of nonesense if you DO manage to get through. Check you have complied with the legal t&c; provided you HAVE and can PROVE it, send a LBA to the registered address (cpw in London) and issue proceedings if they don't pay.0

Thanks mobilejunkie.
It turns out that the claim has been rejected because I sent copies of my bill rather than the original bill. I followed the instructions in the welcome pack supplied to me as a hard copy and by email at the time of purchase.
Do I have a case to fight here? Surely a company can't send out lots of conflicting information? I wasn't even aware of any legal T&C (they were never supplied to me as a hard copy).0 -
12 month contract started on 10th July 2007 with 5 cashback claims as follows:
Month 4 – 10 Nov 07 (this one was paid)
Month 6 – 10 Jan 08
Month 8 – 10 Mar 08
Month 10 – 10 May 08
Month 12 – 10 Jul 08
It’s a price match deal which says:
Where a valid claim has been received by us within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date of the claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the cashback offered. Cashback files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases.
Send us the claim form and original monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected on, that arrives showing you have been connected for 4 months. Ie if you were connected on 1st January , you need to send the bill that is dated around the 1st May. This is 120 days (4 months) after connection.
The key points above are in bold
My bills arrive on 20th of each month.
Month 4 arrives (10th Nov 07), so I send off the bill (sent recorded on 29th Nov) that's dated 10 days later (20th November) as its only this bill that shows “you have been connected for 4 month” as per the T&C’s. The bill that arrived on the 20th October shows advance billing for the coming month but does not show “you have been connected for 4 months”.
The cheque arrived so all is fine.
Month 6 arrives (10th Jan 08), so I do the same and send off the bill (sent recorded on 11th Feb) that's dated 10 days later (20th January) as it show “you have been connected for 4 month” as per the T&C’s.
No cheque arrived an month 6 is approaching so I called them up (55 minutes on hold on a 0870 number at 10p a min costing me £5.50) to be told I could have sent either bill (20th dec or 20th Jan) but that whichever I chose had to arrive no later than 30 days after the anniversary (eg 30 days after 10th Jan). I explained this is not true and I have 2 sets of T&C (one printed off at signup and the other arrived with the phone) and both say “one calendar month of the required bill” and as the required bill is dated 20th January I have until 20th February to get it in.
At this point I’m called a liar and told I have the wrong T&C’s, I said “if I have the wrong T&C’s then you sent them to me and I can only follow what I have been sent”. He then said as we fail to agree there is nothing he can do and all my future claims are invalidated.
What can I do now? As far as I can see I have followed the T&C’s to the letter but am being called a liar. They won’t listen although said I could escalate it by writing to e2save (why e2save I have no idea). I think I’m going to have to take them to the small claims court, should I write to them first giving them 14 days to resolve the problem.
Any help or advice really welcome..0
