OSPS cashback help

I had a contract taken out on 16th May 2007 from onestopphoneshop. This had it’s claim at month 4 (connected 120 days), month 6, month 8, month 10 and month 12.

My bills from O2 CPW:
My first monthly bill was dated
28th May 2007 (including part month 16/05-31/05 and 01/06-30/06)
Second dated
28th June 2007 (including 01/07-31/07)
Third dated 28th July 2007 (including 01/08-31/08)
Forth will expect at 28th August 2007 (it should include the tariff 01/09-30/09)
Fifth will expect at 28th September 2007

Now I am worrying the right one I should sent for claim my first claim. If I incorrectly claim the first one then all claims are void and they only accept the claim to be received in 30 days, therefore I have to take this very seriously.

It is here especially I am looking for guidance. Which one I should send out, the forth or the fifth?

Many thanks for the help.

Use this service on the OSPS website:

    http://cashback.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/cashback.php

    and this:

    http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/customer-services?show_cat=1&show_answer=1

I have just finished claiming my cashback from OSPS and I have to say the process was very easy and OSPS sent me the cashback cheques very quickly. I will definitely use them again.

Thank you very much for the links!

Actually, I had looked at their websites many times. but still not very sure.

I was on O2 for 2 contract in the past without any problem to claim the cashback. O2 normally sent out the first bill just shortly after connection. And they had numbered all the bills so that it is very easy to calculate when I should claim.

However, this is the first time I am with O2 CPW. I got the first bill from CPW on 3rd June(the contract started on 16th May, 2007), i.e. 20 days after connection. Then CPW sent out the bills around 28th every month, and I received them around 3rd every month.

According to their rules, I should claim them at month 4 (connected 120 days). That should be 16th September. However, I will get that bill from CPW at 3rd October. If any problems during the post, I am really taking a risk. Since if I incorrectly claim the first one then all claims are void.

Could anyone help me? If someone has the similar situation as me, please give me some suggestion. or tell me your situation when claiming the cashback from OSPS.

It doesn't matter when the bills arrive. As it states on the OSPS site, you send the "Latest" bill you have available when you have reached the claim window.

So if you claim window starts on 16th September, you send the latest bill you have on this date (ie the one dated 3rd September).

I wrote to them at a very early stage listing what I believed to be the procedure and dates of what I needed to do and asked them to confirm this was right. They did this and I have not had a problem. One cashback to go.

I believe mbailey is right and I will be going to write to them and ask them to confirm that. Many thanks!

    Hello chxly,

have you received any confirmation from OSPS? I took a similar O2 CPW contract in May 2007 like yours. I appreciate if you could let me know which bill is to send for cash back claims.

    Many thanks.
  • I am also in exactly the same situation I took out my contract on the 15th May 2007 and my bills are dated on the 28th of every month , I am also not sure but I intend to send my fifth bill even thoguh it will be some time past my 120 days. I will send my fifth bill becasue I have re read the terms and it states the bill should show you have been connected for 120 days and therefroe your 4th bill would show you've been connected for less than 120 days, so surely that is not valid, even though the 120 days would have passed way before your 5th bill arrives??

important: is it a pricematch deal? As misterk above is right, it needs to show "connected for" I believe.

Ignore the Price match t&c unless you're prepared to enforce them (which would be easy enough!). cpw are using their own "version" of t&c which they neglected to mention when people took these contracts out - but you won't find them written down anywhere. Most claims will, in fact, be too late and not paid out as a result.
  • so does anyone when the 30 days start by when you have to send the bill? Is it from the 120 days of your contract, or from the date on the bill which shows you have been connected for 120 days?

    thanks
